Grayskull: Masters of the Universe - Part 2

I'm excited to see a MOTU film and now even more so since MCG has left the project.

Keep HackG the hell away from this. And everything else for that matter.

Jon Chu, McG......can we find someone that has a passion for this stuff yet has some cred? ****, I'd take a director from GoT over those two. And not Alan Taylor. Maybe Matt Shakman. He directed the Fargo season finale and some eps of It's Always Sunny along with this show.

McG is out again.

Just don't hire Zack Snyder to direct. Much as I enjoy 300 for being quite possibly the greatest mindless chaotic fight movie out there Snyder's recent go at heroic characters shows he would be a poor fit for this franchise.

Only hire Andrew Stanton if you want him to go way overbudget and deliver a bomb.

Hell, I'd say make this Genndy Tartakovsky's live action debut. He storyboarded the final climax in IM2.

Most on here know I'm a huge motu fan but I'll get excited when I actually see a trailer

Used to adore the He-Man cartoon as a kid, would love them to do this right.

I'm happy that McG isn't directing, that's a blessing

Hmm... My ideal director is Del Toro but that ain't happening. So, um... Duncan Jones?

A Del Toro MOTU film would be awesome (ten bucks says Ron Perlman would be Beast-Man).

As for Jones, well, I've only seen "Moon" which was pretty good so I wouldn't be against him directing.

If this is going to be taken seriously it cannot be based on the 80s cartoon.

They could do three movies

1st He-man
2nd She-ra
3rd Masters of the Universe

My main worry about a He-Man film is that it will become (depending on budget) a CGi fantasy sword fest like so many forgettable ones which have come before. Think Gods of Egypt, The Scorpion King, Immortals, etc. Always featuring a near-naked muscled male lead with a sword. Not always awful films as such, but not really memorable.

I think the MOTU premise has the potential to be much more epic in scope if handled properly. I'd love to see Eternia presented as a vast land with peaceful tranquil areas where Adam and co live, and darker more dangerous areas where Skeletor and Grayskull reside. Think of the vast variety of locations in the Lord of the Rings films for example and how their aesthetics were all so unalike.

Don't bother with an origin or any of the kiddy stuff. Just make it smack dab in the middle of some epic adventure He-Man needs to go on.

I still doubt this will happen, it's been in development hell for so long.

They could do this right by taking the 2002 series as inspiration, which massively expanded and legitimized the mythology of the original series. Then, once they've done that and it's a hit, I'll pray to the gods for live action adaptations of Thundercats, Centurions, Bravestarr, Bionic Six, M.A.S.K., Dungeons & Dragons etc..........
