They absolutely were a world apart. I don't even know who would be 3rd best over this last decade but they would be a hell of a long way behind.

Anyone from Hazard, Neymar, Suarez, or some other one-season wonders might be in the tier below them, but Ronaldo and Messi are definitely leagues ahead of their closest challengers.

FA Cup Semi-final draws:

Spurs v Manchester United
Chelsea v Southampton

Interesting draw, fancy Chelsea to make it but the other one really could go either way. Spurs are playing well and super confident and have previous over us recently so will go in thinking they have a great chance. We are not playing as well, obviously, but still grinding out results now and again against the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, so it depends a lot on whether we can up our game in time, plus form and injuries can change in a months time.

Feels like a Chelsea v Spurs final for me though if I was betting.

Still think it’s bs that in the semis and if they make it final Spurs is basically playing with a home game advantage

Spurs Utd could be a great semi if Utd attack.

I dont really see a big advantage. United have played at Wembley plenty of times in recent years and the ticket allocation will be 50/50 so its not going to feel like a home game for Spurs from that respect. Heck 8 months ago everyone was saying Spurs were cursed at Wembley and coudlnt play their, now its an advantage, I just done see a huge one personally.

Having said that, I wont be surprised if Jose brings that up as an excuse should we lose. :awesome:

I'd probably choose Neymar from those although he will likely play half his career in another generation (to Ronaldo at least). The other contenders for no.3 who played most of their career at the same time as the 2 big guns didn't have either the same consistency or max level.

Thats a big IF. For it to have the potential to be a "great" game it would need Spurs to score early again like last time. We also need to sort out the whole Pogba/Sanchez dilema but I feel thats not going to resolved within a month.

Guess so yeah. Looks like I want Spurs to score first ;), and then Utd to really go for it.

Its got nothing to do with fans its experience and knowinh the pitch. You really think spurs would be happy if it was played at old trafford.

The final should be Wembley the semi at a neutral ground or cardiff

Agree it should be played at a neutral ground. Not going to happen though the fa own wembley and it makes them a fortune.

I'd prefer if only the finals were at Wembley.

I swear my Reds are littered with world-class strikers of late who just carry the squad, but can't deliver us a title. In the last 10 years we've had Torres, Suarez and now Salah (though not exactly a striker).

I see Higuain got his first call-up in almost a year for Argentina. It's amazing the attacking talent they have. Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Dybala, Icardi, DiMaria, Lavezzi. I think only France can match them.

Once you get that defence sorted you can go places. Going forward you're got a lot to offer now even outside of Salah. Hopefully you strengthen in summer and can challenge next season.

Just a case of making it all gel together which Argentina haven't quite been able to do at major tournaments.

I just done see the big deal. It never bothered Chelsea when they won against Bayern in Bayerns own back yard in the CL final so a cup semi-final shouldnt bother us.

Anyway seems unlikely to change so we will just have to deal with it anyway.

Yeah I think outside of the big two Neymar has the most natural talent and highest likelihood of taking over, but he's busy ****ing around with his career because he wants to be mr. big shot moneypants. The rest of the tier below them chops and changes, one season Hazard is a world beater, next season it's Lewandowski, now Salah, and so it goes.

Credit to Messi and Ronaldo, the two of them have managed not to get distracted too much by off-field frivolities and they don't seem to buy into their own hype enough to stop working hard.

Neymar sacrificed some of his potential with that unnecessary PSG move. He was the obvious heir to world player of the year if he kept going as he was but took a wrong choice IMO.

Did Neymar sacrifice potential? His ticket is the World Cup imo. He gets that, he is golden.

I didn't quite follow that. Did you mean his world cup place is in doubt or that he will do enough just at World Cups to prove himself as the best?

He is no doubt one of the best international performers out there. Club level seems to be more important these days though with elite level CL available every year. Messi and Ronaldo have obviously proven themselves a lot more at club level.

I don't see PSG matching Barca in Europe over the rest of Neymar's career. And because of the nature of the club the perception is going to be that he moved for money even if he didn't. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if there are more dramas to follow at PSG.

Agree 100%. I hate the fact that the semi-finals are played at Wembley & have done since they changed, takes away from the final's stage IMO.

As for the predicament with Tottenham playing Manchester United in FA Cup semi-final this year, it's whatever to be honest. They may have played their home games this year at Wembley but it isn't their home, the advantage they'll have is fairly minimal & more related to the size/speed of the pitch. Things like the atmosphere will be completely different to what they've experienced at their 'home games' this season in other competitions.

I think Neymar for sure sacrificed some of his potential & his legacy by moving to PSG at this stage of his career (25/26 years old). Whatever way you look at it, it's a step down. PSG aren't on Barcelona's level either in ability or prestige, Ligue 1 isn't up there as a top European league, you've got 4 or 5 others that would be ahead of it.

The only way he'll be able to prove that wrong, is if he can not only win 1 or 2 CL's with PSG, but also be the star player that drags them there.
