I know Inman and I like him, he is a comicbook nerd, so he tends not to like anything that is different. But it wasn't too long ago that he was excusing all the terrible crap DC was releasing.

the weird i noticed was that a few weeks ago he said Ava Duverney was a good choice for new gods but in the video he doesnt like the choice. Do u think he lied or did he change his mind?

I think the longer they hold off on releasing a teaser or a trailer, the better. Considering the director of this is not the most-loved, he should put out the best footage he can so he can shut his naysayers up.

So there can be no more excuses from his fans if it does suck.

Also there’s still eight months to go. Plenty of time to build up hype.

I know, I'm mostly speaking selfishly. Lol. Pretty sure at this point they'll just wait to release it with Deadpool. I was just thinking about when the teaser trailer for Ragnarok came out. That came out April 10th and Ragnarok came out November 3rd. I guess an extra month to release it with Deadpool isn't a big deal.

Fox is starting to carve out space in the comic-book movie franchises for R-Rated Film. Their last two films, Logan and Deadpool, are the #1 & #3 highest grossing X-Men films ever. I wouldn't be surprised if they go full-throttle into R-rated Comic-book films. It seems to be working out for them so far.

Although I want to see the trailer soon, I understand all this delay in showing a first trailer, after what happened in apocalypse with leaking images, trailer with bad effects being placed for all to see, they must be more concerned about quality before showing to the public, anyway I think we'll see something in April.

IMO, DP 2 is most likely. Fox xmen film first trailers usually debut 5-6 months before.

DOFP first trailer was the earliest - 7 months (halloween 2013 - Movie release late May 2014),but thats the outlier .

They're probably approaching Dark Phoenix the same way they did with Fant4stic. They'll keep things a secret as much as they can, then release a good trailer to impress people. And in this case, impress visually. This movie has everything to look beautiful. They certainly have the time.

He's not blameless, but people don't understand the level of control of a screenwriter. With Kinberg, he's been co-writing for much of his career. Dark Phoenix is the first since the beginning of his career where he can be fairly judged on his script-writing AS WELL AS its execution because he now has full control over where the story can go as director. Remember, screenwriting is often a collaboration unless you're directing your own script. This current scenario is THE perfect stage for getting an unfiltered view of Kinberg's work (for good or bad....we'll know for sure).

Well, but Kinberg isn't just a co-screenwriter. He's the producer too and the closest thing FOX has of a Kevin Feige, in a sense of him being the one "overseeing" everything. He has much more power and influence than just a simple co-writer. When he talks about XMA for instance, it seems that they made creative decisions together.

Plus, like 80% of the movies he wrote was pretty bad. Can we say it was all bad execution? No, right? So the fact that he's writing his own script is what makes, for me and other people, the most concerning thing. The point some people are willing to give the "benefit of the doubt" is the point that is making other people go "****, he's directing his own script".

Kinberg has some mutant power of persuasion.Not sure how he was able to get Christopher Nolan's regular movie composer and editor. The dude actually went for Angelina Jolie.....

True. I have no idea why people are skeptical of Aquaman i'm sure it'll be a great movie. I can't wait for it.

As if X-Men is in a winning streak, all they really have is Deadpool and its spin off. Dark Phoenix might not even outgross Aquaman. While Shazam could possibly outgross the New Mutants neXt year. And there's still Wonder Woman 2. And unlike DC, they don't have to deal with the Disney takeover neXt year.

Not the only that they need a good trailer but they also need good timing. You can't just eXpect to drop a trailer at any moment without considering what day or month or year it is.

What makes you think I actually want a bad looking trailer? I only think the timing is right since other big November releases have released theirs. You're assuming they don't have something decent ready to go... maybe they're just waiting for Deadpool 2 to be released.
