Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 57

I was indifferent to Homecoming and Far From Home until I saw then again at home. I think they get better for me after repeat viewings. Also on rewatch of FFH I was able to catch that they told us the true identity of Fury and Hill within the first minutes of the film. After they get out of the car Maria calls Fury ‘Nick’ and that should’ve hit everyone after the “Everyone calls me Fury” lesson in Captain Marvel.

X-Men Origins Wolverine is trash. Unpopular opinion but I don’t really think Days of Future Past is all that great after repeat viewings. Way too many missed opportunities especially in regards to action, no real explanation on how we get to that point in the future (I mean there has to be big some event that made humans want to hit the kill switch), and let’s kill off most of the cast from FC cause...I really wish Vaughn would’ve stayed.

Yeah, that was a great trailer. Gadot seems to be doing a good job, whether she has grown as an actor, or the material is more attuned to her abilities. And I do kind of like the role reversal between her and Steve. Can't wait.

That was a fun, stylish trailer. I just wish I was into the whole Wonder Woman mythos, but I could take it or leave it.

Whether you’re excited or not for 2020 cbms, I’m glad there’s variety to them. WW84, Birds of Harley Quinn and Black Widow all look different from each other and that’s a good thing.

I don’t know why but I got major Batman Returns Michelle Pfeiffer vibes from the way Kristen Wiig is presented in the trailer.

I liked the trailer a lot, but the thing I'm most uncertain about with this movie is that I'm not too into the idea of Cheetah, and they didn't show Cheetah, so...

The movie's 80s style is cool.

Looks alright. I like all the color.

I love the Wonder Woman trailer. That version of Blue Monday is so ****ing good. My only issue is the helmet (it's so bad) and the ending on the gag. The gag just doesn't quite have the punch to end the trailer imo.

Considering what I just read, it sounds like Jenkins has made her own version of Batman Returns.

I like the 80s vibes, which has been fashionable for a while now, but I didn't really get hooked on anything else. I don't know what the film is supposed to be about and while I knew Steve was coming back I'm still a bit hesitant on it as his death was already too much of a copy of Steve Rogers'. Then again he was clearly the best thing about the first one so maybe I should just go along with it.

I think a future trailer has a better chance of being better as WW can have some proper competition. A god fighting normal dudes isn't that exciting.

Did where you read that from paint that as good or bad? Because I love the sound of that, but I know most people that fond of Returns.

Liked the trailer, liked the color, that eagle suit though...
Wish it was coming out now instead of next year, hell even PJ said she ended up not needing the extra time to finish it. Can’t wait to see Cheetah.

I read an entire plot outline that apparently came out a few days ago, and matches the trailer to a tee. I thought it sounded great. It has some really clever answers and to me played like Batman Returns, with better sensibilities. I am a fan of Returns, but what I read played like, "well what if we did that, but a lot better" imo.

The most Batman Returns stuff is,

Cheetah. She sounds a lot like Catwoman from Returns, but not as overly kinky. Her arc seemed a little iffy to me, but I could also see it playing out really well if executed right. Maxwell Lord was the star of what I read though. His material sounds phenomenal imo, and ties in really well with Diana.

Oh and like Returns, it has some Christmas to it.

Well, color me intrigued.

FFH was by far the most contrived-feeling CBM I've ever watched. Even Venom felt more natural.

Those are lovely. I think I want that one of Steve.

I realy do love the WW character posters.

So nice to have Jenkins toss out the remainder of Snyder's influences.

The Ragnarok is strong with this film. I am for it!

This trailer reminded me of Nolan a bit. The scale feels so much bigger then the Marvel movies, which is insane to me. You have these giant armies clashing in intergalactic battles, but somehow they feel smaller. And I don't mean intimate. I mean small. This doesn't feel like this. This reminds me of how big TDK and TDKR looked and felt.
