Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 57

All they really need to do is let Harrelson do what they let Hardy do in the first one, and we are going to have a ton of fun. And taking away the origin aspects lets the movie start out with the strongest selling point of the first movie, Tom Hardy's duel performances.

Venom isn't a great movie. But Tom Hardy acts the hell out of it, and is quite fun to watch once things start going.
I just hope they don't lean too much into the whole team-up thing between Cletus and his symbiote. Maybe just one scene of them conversing would be enough, and even then IMO it's risky territory because they have a different dynamic as opposed to Eddie and Venom who work together more or less.

Cletus is more dominant over the symbiote. Carnage is more or less all him rather than the other way around.

Just watched The Critical Drinker's Justice League Anatomy of a disaster part 1. Great stuff really. Brings up some plot issues I didn't even notice and I thought I noticed a ton. Can't link because of language but a good watch.

Do you guys think Mysterio should get a costume change for an inevitable return? If so, how would you make it look?

Finally watch The Boys. It was pretty good. The guy who played Homelander was crazy good. I'm surprised I never noticed him in anything before.

As far as a Deconstruction of superheroes...eh. I just think deconstruction or at least using a movie, show, etc. and it's main purpose is to deconstruct is kinda played out.

Also I watched season 3 of Ozark and Tom Pelphrey aka Ward Meachum from Iron Fist was in it. Crazy good in it. I know the writing was also the downfall of Iron Fist, but I couldn't believe it was the same actor

He was the best part of Iron Fist, so I'm not at all surprised. Ozark is on my list and now that I finally caught up on Barry, that may be my next show to binge through.

Yup, said the same thing about Tom a few pages back. He arguably stole the show in an already stacked cast.

Also agreed about Homelander. He’s the main reason why I liked the show as much as I did.

I thought it was a little busy, to me. I would prefer a simplified looking suit, more bodysuit realm, more of a simplisticness.

Then I would recommend the show Banshee to you. Antony Starr, who plays Homelander, is the lead and Tom Pelphrey joins the cast in season 2 as an amazing character. Outside of Daredevil, I have never seen a show with better fight scenes.

This, and not convinced he is coming back personally.
I have a little bit of a hard time seeing Gyllenhaal wanting to come back. I know he and Holland became really close and everything, but I'm not sold on him reprising his role.

I didn't exactly expect Keaton to come back either though so what do I know? :funny:

Batman & Robin wasn't funny at all. All Star Batman & Robin was funny (and Elseworlds), but everyone complains about that.

I don't hate the film, but last time I actually tried to sit down and watch Batman and Robin I was bored out of my mind. It's kind of a nothing movie to me.

Oh I thought Keaton would come back for sure. Gyllenhaal doesn’t seem the sequel type though to me.

I know Feige knows what he’s doing but I’m gonna have a serious beef if they recast Cox as Daredevil. I can understand Feige not wanting to be tethered to the Netflix series but screw it man, they should take what worked and Daredevil f***ing WORKED.

Yep, me too. At the very least, keep Charlie Cox and do what they did with JK Simmons.
