Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 57

Outside of some ugly costumes and character designs of Batman, Cheetah and others, the trailers for all the new movies were all good and got me excited for DC on film for the first time in 12 years. Are they finally on track to make consistently good, enjoyable films that can actually make this thread a cinematic “war” rather than a cinematic “beat down”?

Regarding the JL Snydercut trailer:

So, um, it's not just me, right?

Because the song kinda made it feel like a joke to me. I was loading the trailer, without sound and saw a couple of the scenes and was like, "Hey, this doesn't seem that bad. I like the look of that." and then when it the trailer was fully loaded, I started it with the sound and then the music started and I was like, "yeah, nah."

I liked The Batman trailer.

Rolled my eyes with Zack Snyder's JL.

Interested in both WW84 and Black Adam.

So overall, it was good mixture of several emotions.

I didn't have much interest in another Batman reboot before seeing the teaser trailer. Then I watched it another dozen times or so along with the entire Reeves interview from Fandome. The film looks fantastic, and the aural delights of Nirvana & Wright closed the deal.

I also really liked the Suicide Squad preview. I'm looking forward to seeing a dozen or so Z-List characters get butchered. The Wondy sequel looks fine. And the Snyder cut appears to be unwatchable.

DC dropped the hammer yesterday. I think they own the next decade. This is their time.

I'm a very happy bat fanatic right now and looking forward other dc stuff but am also ready for the MCU to get rolling again!

How far did Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision get pushed back? Still no new release date for Black Widow?

The Batman trailer reiterated for me that I'd love a Spider-Man movie to be done in a similar way. Two characters that are best as loners. No over reliance on a big shared interconnected universe to bog them down and make them uninteresting.

Just find a great filmmaker and let them tell a personal and self-contained Spider-Man story.

Seriously, The Batman looks like the Batman film I have wanted to see my entire life. Can't give it a higher compliment. What Matt Reeves is doing just gels with me on basically every level.

It's amazing that just a teaser trailer that only took 25% of it's footage managed to check off so many boxes of things I've always wanted out of a Batman movie.

I know that POV shot of him walking down that hallway into a crime scene being eyed down by GCPD officers and Feds is going to be one of my favorite shots from the whole film.

I agree. It is an impressive teaser. I also love the way Robert seems to carry himself in the basket. He kind of walks like a slasher in a horror film with this slow, methodical movement. But when he was fighting, he is quick, decisive, brutal, and frightening. Love it! Also, finally a Batman movie that is a detective story!!!

Zoey sneakily rappelling down onto her latest heist is already more Selina-esque than anything Anne showed in her portrayal.
Anne portrayed a sassy flirty with Batman type character who wore ears and a mask. Why is rappelling sneakily more Selina-esque?

I know this is a film thread but which dc and marvel animated series from the last 5-10 years are among your top favorites? Most recent show I checked out was Avengers Assembled. Before that was probably before 2010 or 2011
