You kill Joker like Michael Keaton did, and he ceases to be a problem.

I think Batman wouldn't kill Joker for the same reason Joker wouldn't kill Batman. They validate each others' existences. Or less deep, he simply doesn't want to give Joker that satisfaction.

I don't really subscribe to that notion, personally. I know it's a widely held belief (even among Batman writers), but it's not my cup of tea. The Joker is a deplorable, heinous mass-murderer. Under no circumstance do I think that Batman should "need" him in any way. Batman doesn't kill The Joker because he does not kill period. That's my preference. If you open the door to Batman killing, then The Joker's dead meat. No two ways about it for me.
*Joker kills 100 people*That would make Batman a total scumbag who should also be put down if that's his reasoning.

Batman: "I can't kill him because I need him!"
Can't decide between pathetic, selfish or psychotic. Regardless, not Batman.
Who really would have thought Affleck would be back? Not me!
Damn us OG DCEU fans can't stop winning in 2020 lol

Let's face it: the real reason Batman doesn't kill Joker is because Joker is Batman's most popular villain. Writers therefore have to bend over backwards to find reasons why Batman won't kill Joker.
Of course, you can say that Batman has a code against killing, etc. To that I point you to what Batman tells Ra's Al-Ghul at the end of Batman Begins: "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you." Batman has no problem letting villains die when he has the opportunity to save them—when they're less popular villains.
This.
Straight up, I think that's the sort of thing you see in bad interpretations of the character, ones that're trying too hard to be edgy or "Complex".
Speaking of Batman killing, I’m watching Batman (89) right now and something just hit me. He full on attempted to blow the Joker up when he blew up Axis chemicals. Joker arrives via helicopter right as Batman is about to get back into his car and says “missed me!”
I bet the nitpickers will still find excuses. Batman has always killed. You were just too naive at the time and turned a blind eye to it. End of story.
Yes, and he killed the Joker at the end. In this world, Batman lets Joker, who killed his adopted son, walk around upright.
No one's turned a blind eye to it, and no one is naive to it. End of story.
So your problem is that he didn’t kill enough?
