The Mandalorian The Mandalorian: General Thread

While Ilum may still be at its original location, I think it is safe to say the conversion of Ilum probably has begun.

Faverau did say this season would touch on the origins of the First Order. Considering what we know from Fallen Order, and what Mando's mission is, it seems obvious he would go to Ilum.

It's possible the Empire abandoned Ilum after the Battle of Endor, or the Battle of Jakku, and then the First Order swept in and finished the work.

You guys seems to know a lot, I only know Ilum from the MMORPG Star Wars The Old Republic (from memory it was where you could find Kiber crystal).

What is this talk about a converted Ilum and the link with the First Order ?

It's heavily implied in Jedi: Fallen Order than Ilum eventually becomes Starkiller Base from TFA

Oooh. I see.
My small knowledge of the EU stopped more than 20 years ago with the Timothy Zane's book Heir of the Empire (and some novels I don't remember with the Jedi twins)

I found the whole early morning internet melt-down of people thinking that was Ahsoka very amusing, given that the slightest glance makes it abundantly clear that isn't her. The original rumor that listed Sasha Banks as part of the cast also said she would be playing Sabine, so I'd say it's all-but-confirmed at this point.

The trailer was good. Didn't get me quite as hyped as I'd like, but showed some promising stuff. I love that we're apparently going to Mon Cal, since its home to two of my favorite SW species. And the prospect of visiting Illum and getting more info on the birth of the First Order is also exciting.

Cha Cha as Sabine? Interesting. You'd think they'd want a more proper actor, but I could get behind it. That said, I guess she could be a family member as well. Though considering they are talking about the Jedi in that scene, would be weird to be one more person removed from the situation then a former owner of the dark saber herself.

It's been confirmed I believe. Also have to say, I love all the new EU lore being discussed. Proper Star Wars geeks up in here. :D

The crazy thing is, the last Thrawn book I read sort of made the dagger thing in TROS make sense to me...

I do love a lot of the new authors they have gotten. I assume you have been all over the Handmaiden books.

Why would you assume that...

Make the spin off film/series starting Keira you cowards!!!! :argh:

I need to check out that Thrawn thing. I haven't been keeping up with the proper books too well, but have been with everything else.

Between this and Star Wars squadrons, October is SW month cant wait :mrk:

I'd say this October is going to be a great month for fans in general with Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 also dropping. I know everybody doesn't love it, but I'm a big fan of that show as well just as a pure sci-fi nerd I am beyond giddy for both shows and I have no idea how I'm going to handle it lol.

How’s that exactly? I’ve read all the Thrawn books and didn’t pick on any TROS connections.

I was hoping to see a tease of Ahsoka.

I think that might have been Sabine wearing the cloak.

I hope Mando's journey leads Sabine and Ahsoka to Ezra. Id really like to see him next season.
Honestly, I feel like the search for Ezra and whatever shenanigans him and Thrawn have gotten into definitely merit their own show rather than being a subplot on Mandalorian.

Season 2 trailer looks sharp, I'm hyped. Though I am quite surprised they didn't reveal Rosario Tano. I did half expect the trailer to end with her lightsaber igniting and walking out of the darkness.

The trailer was very cool. I look forward to seeing
more of the new characters next time.
