The Mandalorian The Mandalorian: General Thread

In the new canon Luke is known to the galaxy, but the public knows few specifics and his actions are thought of as rumor, hearsay, exaggeration, Rebel propaganda etc.

You have to remember there were only around 10,000 jedi during the PT and they had to cover an entire galaxy with a population of trillions of beings. Most people never actually saw a Jedi or what they could do. The holonet helped spread foorage of Jedi some during the CW, but after the fall of the Republic Sidious destroyed all media and archives about Jedi, and released a bunch of propaganda making the Jedi out to be a shadowy traitorous cult. Sidious messed with the Clone Wars historical data as well. And studying the Jedi during the Imperial era was punishable by death so the average person just had no reason to learn anything about Jedi.

The new canon? There is but one canon my friend. :D

I understand the amount of Jedi and what they were doing during TCW. But what happened with the Mandos specifically had heavy Jedi involvement with their own situation. And now it seems they don't even know the Jedi ever existed properly. It honestly makes very little sense with TCW and Rebels.

I mean, I can understand a fanatical sect of Death Watch being... hesitant to teach their recruits about the times the Jedi handed their ass to them.

I'm curious if they're gonna actually get into that much on the show.

I know I am late to the party but I finished season 1 last night omg I LOVED it the nice blend of action, humor and emotion a great season finale.

PS I just had to make a child avatar he he
First, great avatar. :D

Second, being late is fashionable, or so I am told. :cwink:

Glad to hear you enjoyed it and you are just in time to wait an agonizing month and half for season 2. Hope you join us for the ride. :yay:

This show's Mandos are living on the Outer Rim and in the Unknown Regions so they may not even know what all happened on Mandalore. Plus they dont seem like the mainstream Mandalore Mandos we saw in the other shows. My thinking is that these Mandos are living the real world equivalent of a holy life isolated from mainstream Mandalore life and only caring about living according to the Way. When I consider how shockingly ignorant some Christian evangelicals are about other Christian sects, history, and real world events, the way some live apart from the world, I have less trouble believing that these zealous Mandos may have some large gaps in their knowledge of history.

For the sake of the canon, I would have preferred they not do things this way. The show will either have to ignore the discrepancies and gaps or jump through some hoops to explain why these Mandos of the Way or Mando in particular are so ignorant about Jedi.

I'm not even a Gina Carano fan in the least bit but she's been annoyed by "fans" to put pronouns in her social media bio and called names and other derogatory things for months and she's finally firing back. That's such a Cara Dune move and I support her on this.

How are we in a world where people can attack someone for not putting "her" after her twitter name for months and then act like the victims and have the gall to accuse her of being transphobe? Like seriously, people need to get real lives and just stop with this kind of nonsense.

Yeah, "fire back" in a manner that targets one of the most disadvantaged groups in society... I don't think that is a Cara Dune move.

The birth of this situation is Carano's own wrongheaded beliefs. She has made it clear she is transphobic. The idea that people "pestered" her into doing something transphobic is nonsensical imo. It would be like someone saying they were "pestered" into racism, when they did something racist. How does that work exactly? When people show you who they are, believe them. We just had this with JK Rowling.

Moreover, those in her corner... yeah. If the alt-right is your big defender I think that says a lot about you. That Pascal may actually be separating himself from her a bit is also rather telling imo. Carano wants to be alt-right, that's her right. And people have the right to point it out and not want that apart of something like Star Wars.

I've seen this narrative pushed, but I've yet to see anything back it up. What I have seen is that she made some dangerous posts about an ongoing pandemic, then liked a post supporting her that made fun of the people calling her out for having pronouns in their bios. Then she got called on that. Then she said she had a heart to heart with Pedro Pascal, man with pronouns in his username, who explained it to her and why it was important to some people. She said she understood now. Then she turned around and did it in her username like Pascal... but beep/bop/boop to make fun of it again. Then Pedro Pascal started liking tweets calling her on her ****.

All other things aside for a moment, why drag Pascal into this? Like forget that she says he explained it to her, thus she acknowledges she knows what she was doing. Pascal seems like a really nice dude. Why do this to him?

Do you hear yourself? She made a "Dangerous posts" about a pandemic? Then, she "liked" someones post. If that isn't the dumbest thing to get mad at a person for, maybe people should take an honest look at themselves on my that would offend them.

You could live your life to the fullest and be happy and not pay her no mind but nope, people want to take offense about this random B-list celebrity's Twitter profile? Sounds like these people are just losers with nothing better to do with their time. It's no wonder so many people cry about having poor mental health issues today. Just look at how easy something can control their emotions. I don't feel bad for those kind of people.

Yeah, encouragng people in one of the countries handling the pandemic the worst to congregate and open is... what's the word, dangerous. She's suggesting risking lives because she wants church to be open. Excuse me if I don't have any sympathy for that.

Just so it's clear. The promotion of going out into a world as a pandemic goes on without a face covering, as every legitimate medical professional tells you not to, to protect your fellow human beings from great harm including death, is truly awful and more then worth getting mad at a person for in my opinion. When it comes to supporting transphobic trolls on twitter, if that is something someone chooses to do, I think it is more then worth looking at them as the trash they are.

Gina Carano could live her life to the fullest and be happy and not pay no mind to anyone else, but nope she decided she needed to be an anti-mask, transphobic person on social media.

Finally, did you just make fun of those suffering from mental health issues? WTF?

How about this: You complain about people getting worked up from a Twitter post, you think you would follow your own advice to not do this in a Super Hero Message Board in a Star Wars Forum and manage to get off topic. Learn to follow your own advice.

Learn to express your views better and debate without being a jerk too. If you don't take that advice, you'll get an infraction.
