X-Men - Part 8

I can't vote for some reason but I was gonna vote for Marrow.

Obviously, the lesser known characters aren't going to get the majority of the votes. So Boom Boom, Tempo, Sunspot and Strong Guy are probably out of the running. Marrow as well.

Though I wonder if this voting even affects the other characters. Some of these ten could have been decided by Marvel to join the new status quo already. And this online poll could just be something eXtra for the fans.
Sunspot was #3 in the early results. Polaris and Banshee are leading the pack. I dont think the vote really matters. I think its a done deal that Lorna will join the X-men as Leah Williams got on Twitter and explained what will happened to her in X-Factor should that happen. She didnt need to so to me that suggests they've already discussed this internally and I dont think Hickman would just yank her from X-Factor if Leah had big plans ahead

Excalibur was interesting. Not as good as last issue. Kind of disappointed that Betsy had to deal with an alternate Kwannon rather than her own. Probably just prepping for the real meeting. Sort of a good preview, with Betsy's issues still around. Also love Pete Wisdom's view on Krakoa, and why he has been avoiding it.

New Mutants seems to really want to delve into more of the issues with the resurection protocols. I do wonder why Tier isn't on the que. Felt bad for Gabby. I do wonder why Shadow King is playing around with the kids.

X-men was fun. That was a 90's ass 90's issue. The art reminded me of the early days of the X-men/Uncanny X-men comic split. And I loved seeing Scott and Jean back in the old X-factor uniforms. More mutants using older costumes please. And not being set to one costume in the various books.

I voted for Boom-Boom. Rereading Inferno and rewatching X-men Evolution gave me a soft spot for her.

I was torn between Boom-Boom and Armor. Ultimately went with Armor, because its time the kids finally get promoted. Sunspot and Cannonball are my overall favorites of this lineup, but I'd hate to separate them.

It would be nice to get more of Boom-Boom, though. I was loving her in New Mutants. I'm finally dropping it, though. The budget is just really tight right now, and I really can't afford to keep up with anything I don't overtly love at this point. So it's down to just Marauders and X-Factor for my X-books.

The X-Book every fan has been waiting for is finally here! X-CORP, written by Tini Howard (EXCALIBUR) and drawn by Alberto Foche (Dan Dare) will hit stands this May. Taking Jonathan Hickman’s master plan for mutantkind to the next level, the series will premiere a brand-new group of X-Men that will prove once and for all that mutantkind means business!

UGH! to Tini writing this. She is not a good writer IMO. She has made some of the most interesting characters in Excalibur dry and boring

So its just going to be M and Angel? Thats an interesting pair though I would prefer to see them in the main X-Men team.

Happy to see X-Corp finally happening, but I honestly wish it didn't have to be Tini Howard. Excalibur got better in the lead up to XoS, but now it's back to the same old. Honestly my least favorite ongoing in Reign of X.

I was going to stop reading it but it has Psylocke, Jubilee, Rogue and Gambit.

I already stopped reading Hellions and X-Factor. 6 titles are too many. Usually, I wouldn't read eXcalibur, X-Force and Marauders bcos they aren't the "X-Men" well title wise and they aren't really the X-Men team rn. But the adjectiveless title right now doesn't have a core team and I want to follow the other X-Men.

I want Marvel to go back to the old days, 2 X-Men titles that release bi monthly and another X-Men title that has 1 issue per month.

Now that we're three issues in, I think it's safe to say that none of the other earth-bound teams are taking advantage of the current status quo for mutants quite like New Mutants. I really didn't expect Vita Ayala's version of the book to have such a glow-up.

I wish they would develop these Children of the Vault.

The last issue of Adjectiveless was just not enough.

Whats bigger than Giant? PLANET!

Twelve titles, twelve stories, all focused on a single night that will go down in Marvel Comics history. Stay tuned for more HELLFIRE GALA cover reveals, costume designs, variants covers, and more as the buildup to this major turning point in the saga of the X-Men begins!

Looks like the summer crossover will revolve around the gala

It sounds more interesting than X of Swords at first glance and thankfully it's also much shorter.

Oh, god damn, there is the "mutant fashion" Hickman was always talking about. Love it.

EDIT: Rachel is going to kill someone with that outfit...

Love the look of the Hellfire Gala stuff. S.W.O.R.D. and X-Force were pretty good this week. Very happy that King In Black is almost over though.

I honestly don't get eXcited anymore with these "events" and special double length issues, that don'tfollow the numbering of a certain title. They are simply doing it too many times a year. By June, they'd be announcing another X-Men event.

I enjoy Hellions primarily for Mister Sinister who is now like a scenery chewing camp pantomime villain. Spouting off witty one liners and scheming like Doctor Smith from Lost In Space.

Excalibur is boring. They have some big name X-Men in the title but the whole magic stuff is boring. The writer is no Alan Moore/Alan Davis.

shrug

I think its doing better now that it isn't working toward an event.

The flagship title was a big step up this week. At least we're getting some payoffs now.

I've really loved this last arc on Excalibur, even if it started a bit oddly. Its nice to see some good focus on Betsy

Looks like whoever design those Hellfire Gala covers really like Emma Frost.... seriously 3 variant covers.... they could have given the other two covers for the other characters.

New Books incoming!

Duggan gets a new volume of X-men, maybe spinning out of Planet Size X-men
My guess is Hickman gets Moira X
Leah...no clue. Wish she wasnt getting another title

I'm up for a new volume of X-Men under Duggan. Curious what book Hickman's getting though. I'd love to see Moira X happen.

I prefer Williams getting another title over Howard getting X-Corp. Between the two Williams' writing for Reign of X has been much better.
