Lounge of Justice - Part 90

I’d bet Neil is just being super sarcastic here but it’s funny either way.

I am going to catch flack for the first comment in my post but I said it that way for a reason:

Thatis gonna upset some people ;)

of course it is. People like to be upset. if one looks at it logically its just a fact not an insult. Most movies in the are a copy of each other. the MCU uses a formula. the same people who complain about that are some of the same people that love rick and morty. . Dan Harmon uses a formula to show that show, there is a youtube video on it.

the 3-act and 5-act structure is a formula for writing movies and stories.

The MCU formula is also something many of the same people complaining will praise in comparison to the competition.

The MCU's "formula" existed long before the MCU. Its called Superman The Movie.:D

He's not even taking a shot at Marvel but some people will interpret it that way. ;)

Exactly. And even if he was why are comic fans so uptight about it anyways? It is not exactly new for parts of Hollywood to crap on other parts of Hollywood. Not everyone thinks the same way.

Well that escalated quickly...

[I could care less about Denis, cause he is rather whiny sometimes **cough**HBO Max**cough** and I don't even like Marvel Films most of the time]

Who the hell cares what Neill Blomkamp thinks? The guy hasn't made a film anyone saw or cared about since what Elysium? (and that barely made a profit) The last time I heard his name he was epically failing at trying to make an Alien film...

Just as I thought, Marvel already have ready made "action sequences" (with characters in comic book poses at the end of those sequences), and story they develop simply compliments those action sequences, even humor is added after every few minutes Everything is pre-planned by Fiege and Company.

I wasn't even gonna comment because I find this discussion stupid every time it comes up every few months or so (it seems like these reporters ask these questions knowing they'll get inflammatory responses for clicks), but the claim Marvel "don’t bother w/ finding anyone w/ their own vision" is really funny to me. And one look at their Twitter page reveals the obvious, lol.

Quinones been killing these covers.

I wanted to post that video about "Third floor pre-vis company", I don't care what the person posting that twitter post thinks about Marvel movies.

I wasn't trying to spark anything FYI...I did kind of want to see how people around here would react to it though since Denis is thought of so highly around these parts. Plus he got almost no flack for his ripping Dune being put on HBO Max day and date and wanted to see if that held true for criticizing Marvel as well. I was actually more shocked he commented...and knew it would be blown out of proportion by people on Twitter.

The truth is Hollywood is at its best when it has a nice mix. The blockbusters are supposed to fund the "artistic" films. The problem with the MCU (above even WB and other studios) is that it just sucks the air out of everything. Plus people are creepily cultish about it. I mean think about it, people rip the Fast and Furious franchise all the time you don't see its fans (and it has a ton, those films make bank) throw a childish fit because of it. But if anyone dares say a bad thing about the MCU...

The only thing close to it is the Snyder Cultists only they have way less numbers.

Diversity of thought and taste is good. It is no skin off my nose if people rip the films I like. I certainly won't attack them for it. I will disagree, and if it is a show I am listening to or interview I will just fast forward past it. People are just way to dang sensitive over this stuff...

OMG how dare Marvel take the time pre-plan eveything for their shared universe!

Watched the new Nic Cage movie. It opens with him with a soysauce colored beard/goatee robbing some kind of bank. Him yelling 100 mph and his partner pointing a gun at a little kid.

Villegawd is right about Marvel!

Happy Friday.

I'll see ya'll in a few.

Joe Quinones might be one of the best comic book artists in this era, and his art is a real joy to look at.
No slandering of Superman the Movie!!
Not slander my man, it's the bringer of hope Kevin Feige looks up to for inspiration behind any of the MCU movies.

Literally the exact same thing they said to Ava Duvernay. :funny: I wonder if they pulled this s*** with Ryan Coogler, James Gunn, the Russos, etc.
Action in all these movies seem distinguishable enough from one flick to the next. Didn't the Russos work with John Wick action coordinator? At least for their Cap movies.
