Just recast Kang.

I hate recasts as much as the next... but, if (IF) it comes down to it, the character/in their many forums/as many different variants... does lead themselves to being recast-able more then others... tho the variants we've seen of him so far looked like "him" we've also seen examples of variants of other characters who look nothing like the "actor" of the original character

Honestly, they could just retcon that mid-credits scene with little to no trouble.

A recast is such an easy option, I'm not even concerned about it.

It's not as if Quantumania capture the public's imagination and his version of Kang is as beloved as Brolin's Thanos.

Basically, the only group that would have the biggest issue with a recast those in fandom who can't handle recasts, and their feelings wouldn't make a bit of difference if Disney/ Marvel wants to wash their hands of Majors, and recast the part.

The biggest issue with a recast would be, that there's a chance it would result a delay for the Avengers Kang trilogy of films ,since, they aren't gonna fly by the seat of their pants, and just cast the first guy available to gamble on their expensive trilogy.

it wouldn't even have to be a permanent recast... just saying if they had to move forward with a project that was suppose to feature a Kang variant, they could easily just do a different take on that Kang variant for that one project, instead of causing a delay while their waiting to for the dust to settle

Yeah... I have no idea how Feige will handle any of this without some major restructuring. Unless they go the Josstice League with massive reshoots to cut out Jonathan Majors and replace him with another actor.

Though, all of this MCU stuff is kind of irrelevant in comparison to his partner getting the justice she deserves. All signs point to him being guilty right now, so I hope he rots in jail.

Have they already filmed parts of the Kang Dynasty? If not, who is to say he doesn't look different in other universes? He could also keep his helmet on all the time.

On the Doom suggestion, I said this elsewhere, but while I am the world's biggest fan of the character, it's not feasible. This entire Saga was planned for Kang. We haven't even sniffed Doom at this point, and it isn't like Doom and Kang are super similar characters. We also don't have a Doom sighting within sight. So to repurpose this so Doom is now the villain, you are talking page 1 rewrites on multiple projects and a total delay to the slate. It is much easier to just recast the role if it comes to that.

I don't think Kang is confirmed for Secret Wars if I'm not mistaken, that film could feature a different villain like Doom or Beyonder.

Confirmed, no. But all evidence and rumors point to Kang being the villain of all 3 and Doom being used later on

Rumor is Secret Wars will be further split into 2 films, one of which may be called Avengers Forever. So KD-SW1-SW2

fair point, but I'm not even just talking from a "cancel culture" POV, but, Kang is unique in the way of having many different versions of the same character could be interesting to see other actors give their take on them...


there's quite a few alien/monster type version of the character among their ranks, who could be played by other actors... without taking anything away from the main version of the character

Those films will be absolutely central to Marvel’s future so they won’t be taking risks. If they turned out poorly or loaded down with controversy, the whole MCU would take a big hit with many of the GA checking out from Phase 7 onwards.

I am posting this here because if they are replacing the FF and Thunderbolts writers with new ones and shaking those projects up, I expect Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars will not be far behind.

After reading what the previous writers' credits were for FF4 and the original plan for Thunderbolts, this is 100% a decision for the better.

Also, Feige really needs to get more writers that have worked with other genres besides comedy.

I hope not. I don't see any problem with the recast, which imo is an easy recast.

Their bigger problem though is Jeff Loveness, after the critical reception of Quantumania. I don't feel confident with him writing an Avengers movie.

I didn't hate on Loveness as much as others (I enjoyed Ant-Man 3 for the most part) but the faults I did have for his work did make me worry for this movie. I feel like this might be for the best.

Quite honestly, yeah. Quantumania didn't give me the confidence that he could write a strong script for this movie.
