DC Universe - Justice League: War

Wonder Woman in this reminded me a little too much of Thor from the first Thor movie. "Neanderthal"-ish sounds about right.

Does anyone know if they will make a Batman and Cyborg figures in the JL War action figure line???

I'd assume they would be in Wave 2, because the prototypes I saw were only the other Big 5 members and Shazam. I have a hard time believing that there will be no Batman fig, but if it's as terrible as Wonder Woman's fig, that might be a blessing.

You're right. WW is very Thor-like.

People have complained that she sounded too modern and "grad school" in the 2009 movie and too "Neanderthal" here. They should find a balance, where she is educated on Themyscira, but still has a 'fish out of water" quality to her without sounding like a "Neanderthal".

I thought the 09 movie managed to find that balance right.

Her solo movie depicted her perfectly. War was just... bad. It was all, ''RAHHHHHHH IM A WARRIORRRRRRRAHAHAHAHAH I LOVE ICE CREAM!''

I think a lot of people forget that Diana is supposed to be a peace keeper and very loving, as well as a skilled fighter. She would never swing a sword around innocent people, let alone in their face like she did in this movie.

Batman and Flash were the only decent character representations, imo.

Lantern was extremely annoying and clearly supposed to just be comic relief.
Not down for the school yard crush between Supers and WW.

Yeah, I agree that Wonder Woman and Superman always feel forced as a romance. Not to mention the sexism that comes with it - everytime they get together Wonder Woman magically becomes less competent and Superman must save her/protect her honour, because apparently writers can't conceive of a truly equal power couple.
I don't see anything wrong with that. I thought is was kind of cute how superman caught wonder woman . People whine about these two feeling sexually attractive to each other, like how normal people do. It makes me wonder if the people whining are still very young or if they are adults with no sex life.

Yeah but the 'peace keeping' can get boring after a while. They were just trying to have some fun with the character.

I didn't like this movie much.

Batman, flash and GL were ok (although GL was too much at times).

Superman and WW were just awful.

WW was made either dopey and too out of place or too aggressive. That scene where she said that costume "makes her feel powerful" was just stupid. Really? That's what makes you feel powerful? How about the fact that you actually have powers? How about the fact that you're a superhero? Nope, it's gotta be a skimpy costume. Why can't she just wear proper clothes and writers can forget those stupid excuses for that costume. That ice cream thing was also cheesy.

And superman...he seemed like a *****y dudebro. I liked that they didn't make him a door mat or anything, but they seem to be compensating for years of writing him as a door mat by making him too hot-headed. They had him punching GL and bats through a building even. There's no need for him to be the aggressive one that fights everyone. He should be badass, but only when necessary. The romance with him and WW also seemed juvenile.

I like the WonderWoman ice cream scene. It showed how naive this rookie wonder woman is. it would be borring if wonder woman was already absolute like how we All know her . You people need to chill out.

No we don't. People are allowed to dislike that scene. I thought it was dumb and over-done.

I think that scene is the only scene I like of WW, I found it humorous. It's the rest of her scenes...

I just hope DC is rethinking the whole "This is how we will be doing all future DC titles" route.

Me too, although I've loved everything previous to this so I'm hoping this was just one-time hiccup.

There will be stand-alone titles for individual heroes, but it's all aboard the New 52 train for all future JL movies. Unless they sell poorly, this is how DC is going to establish some sort of continuity.

I've spent five minutes working on how you managed to go from analysis of why WW and Supes don't thematically work to young adolescents. Got nothing.

Which is fine, but they didnt go about it the right way. Again, the solo movie did it perfectly.

Apart from the battle WW the depiction of WW was terrible.

Yes you need to chill out. It would be boring if we got the same interpretation of superheroes in every movie , tv show, and comic.

Because the whole sex thing could make them feel uncomfortable. With young girls looking up to wonder woman as a sigh of women's strength , they could feel that the sexual attraction contradicts of what she represents to them. They don't see sex as a normal thing yet. It's unfamiliar to them

Yeah...that's definitely some hardcore assumptions being made there. I don't like the WW/Supes pairing because both are fundamentally outsiders whose stories are about acquainting themselves with a mortal world, and coming to understand it. Hence Lois Lane and Steve Trevor, and their respective casts which serve to ground them and humble them. With that pairing, it completely subverts the points of each character and results in further isolation.

Furthermore, I've yet to see a Supes/WW pairing that didn't result in the usual sexism of having Superman constantly have to save her/protect her 'honour'/otherwise downgrade her abilities.

You need to learn that different people have different opinions. And it's actually ok for them to have them. Perhaps you missed the day in kindergarden when they taught the "different strokes for different folks" lesson.

I don't have a problem with the New 52 and don't mind future movies being set in the same continuity, I just hope they are of a better quality than this one. I loved the Throne of Atlantis story and if that is next then I hope it is good.

I'm sorry that you didn't like it; I thought it was outstanding. I'm excited for ToA as well despite my distaste for Aquaman. ToA is a decent story with the focal point being Ocean Master, who is an underrated villain.

Lastly, I get that they had to give victor his by moment but in a more comic book accurate story, flash should have been there the minute that doctor put the phone down imo.

I totally missed that part. Vic's dad tells Flash they are in trouble, and it almost takes him two full minutes to actually show up. Not only did they reduce his screen time, now he's apparently also really slow. In the comic, Flash was there to help Green Lantern, in literally like a second, when it was clear that he absolutely needed him. One moment they were on the phone, the next moment he spins Superman into the ground.

Hal gave him the exact location. Stone didn't.

He knows where he works. How long does he need to follow the path of destruction? So it should take him 2 seconds instead of 1.

Flash knows where Star Labs is, not only has he been there before but I was under the impression that he had been there recently as per their earlier conversation.

I need to revisit the film. I'm not even sure if it's star labs tbh. I did notice that was professor Ivo working with dr. stone. sigh if only WB had the guts to make this a series. Right now people would be so excited going forward.

Okay.
Victors father took Victor to the "Red Room" A secured room strong enough to keep parademons at bay and allow scientists to argue w/o interruption.
I expect Flash arrived and commenced fighting his way through hundreds of Parademons getting into the main lab where he left the motherbox/dead parademon.
He then hard to fight while searching for the doc. Two minutes with this flash showing no vibrational power set made sense to me.
