Terminator: Genisys - Part 3

What i love about terminator is that the whole story is already there. The machines become self aware and destroy the earth, john Connor fights back with his army and defeat the machines but as a last attempt to win the machines send back a terminator to the past the destroy Connor so they dont lose. thats it. Its a closed loop. All i want now from sequels is showing more of the details within that story, they dont need to keep changing it, its already interesting enough.

I don't hate Courtney as much as most, apparently, but this trailer was just really generic to me. Also, the first half plays like a darker, more serious film and then the second suddenly jumps to generic action with the terminator theme playing. Horribly pieced together.

I'll probably see it, but I'm already confused as hell as to wtf they did to the timeline.

I guess i'm the only one who liked it...

that's the "what did you just say to me?!?!?" face

Lee Byung Hun was a great actor back in SoKor, but in Hollywood, he was always relegated to no-substance action man role like every other Asians who tried to break into Hollywood. It's sad.

He must be stoic…and silent. Because he's Asian!

I don't know. I think it's because there's so much on the line with this film vs a movie like Jurassic World. The one thing is the ticking clock..

The rights will go back to James Cameron in 2018-2019, so this will be the last hurrah of the Terminator franchise by a non-Cameron entity. Either they'll win people over..or not. Either way, it all goes back to Cameron and I'm sure he'll just let the franchise collect dust as he does his Avatar thing.

I wish this was just a sequel to Salvation. I found it underrated,Could have been much better but it wasn't too terrible either and prefer it over 3..Which I find KINDA underrated too. If this was simply a sequel then imagine the potential!..

-Keeping it all in the future,Which most fans prefer.

-Yelchin may have returned as Kyle and his character could have progressed as becoming more of a badass soldier.

-Maybe Bale would have returned and he would likely be way better again then this new guy.

-Asian T-1000 could have been a badass new Terminator than retconing Robert Stewart.

-Sarah Connor could have been left alone.

-Native American chick from Salvation could have returned and maybe improved as the new female badass in the franchise.

-The director and writers could have easily improved upon Salvation than try to pull off this idea and reboot everything..where I bet a sequel won't come to pass or at least not soon.

As for Arnold..He could have played an army general or scientist that was captured by the machines years ago and made him as the template for the T-800's but just made them younger. John and Kyle could have saved him and then it'd be interesting with future John fighting alongside a human arnold looking guy through the movie, Arnold could not have the main role but not so minor while still being in the action. For the nostalgia kick they could have fought a T2 Arnold before they reprogram him or something.

I sure hope Cameron either leaves the franchise alone where no one else can touch it this time or he reboots it all again but likely much properly

If he can continue to make quality Terminator films I'm all for it

What exactly is on the line other than it being a cynical cash grab? The story ended in T2 and it's been the same old song and dance ever since.

I'll be very surprised if he does make a film unless maybe just one more sequel to T2 and ignores 3-Genisis. I just think he probably hates what the franchise has gone through that he can't wait to end it as soon as he gets the rights back

Wait so how does that work, especially if this is supposably the first of a planned trilogy? If Cameron gets the rights back does that mean that they can't do anymore films unless he's involved?

What I didn't like about the trailer is that the CGI seems cheap. Green Lantern cheap. Look at the liquid metal effects compared with T2. Look at the overhead nuclear blasts shot. Its T3 equivalent seems more competent than the scene here.

To be fair the cinematography looks way better here than in T3.

So I've just seen the trailer. It seems ok, but nothing really mindblowing. And I'm not really liking their version of the apocalyptic future. Looks too..I don't know. Like a disco with fireworks or something.
