A Batman Series on hbo with a GOT like budget would be the biggest thing ever

Netflix won't die it's on itself by now more of it's content rather than depending on outside source. Don't be surprised if the new Star wars hits there as Disney will be sorting out the Knicks on it's streaming site.

I have no idea what their plans are internationally, but Disney is pretty much done with Netflix on the domestic front. They confirmed not long ago that Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the last Marvel movie added to Netflix and that everything starting with Captain Marvel will end up on the new Disney service instead.

I'm just saying if WB/DC ever decided to do that they could then do any DC story they want take their time with it and make it good. I mean you could do Superman: For Tomorrow properly or Up, Up and Away any other storyline. Same could go for Batman or Wonder Woman or Flash. And they could still release the seasons on Blu-Ray so people could follow along. I mean the main cast for Superman has already shown they are not above to do TV work and in that case you can do GL or the GLC properly and bring in the Legion as well as many others.

Yup, in this day age, being on television no longer carries a stigma, tons and tons of A list talent are doing TV shows. The freaking ROCK, who is arguably the biggest movie star of our time currently, between all of his film obligations is still starring on HBO's Ballers. So they could get Ben and other A list talent if they want. At this point DC needs to let go of this ridiculously hyprocritical "rule" they have of having characters appear in movie and TV at the same time. They've got SUPERMAN on TV now. They can do a Batman show while Reeves takes his time with his movie that's likely not coming anytime soon.

This could be like a 20 year epic, it might seem far too ambitious but it would be so cool

Start with year one and cover all the iconic stories all the way up to the end.

In all honesty I would forget the Reeves movie altogether if Affleck was willing to do a 10-12 episode Batman series. And then you bring them altogether for Justice League movies only. I mean doing thing that way you can see Batman's No Man's Land, Knightfall could be 3 seasons in itself and you could also do a Teen Titans series with Conner, Cassie, Bart and Tim. Hell if you wanted you could reboot the whole DCCU through TV series on their network and only do Justice League movies.

I think that Gotham Central idea was the closest they came, right?

If Watchmen is a hit, then perhaps something might come up. But then again, we've got Reeves' Batman coming at some point.

Absolutely. And the beauty of Batman is you dont need a big budget. The majority of the production budget likely would go towards the set design of the cave, the batmobile and the suit. They can start small, season one focusing on him taking down mob bosses like Falcone, maybe the Red Hood or Black Mask. Then if the show's successful and they have more money to play with they can bring in Batman's more eccentric rogues like Mr Freeze and Ivy.

Imagine like four 1 hour and twenty minute episodic seasons every few years, taking inspiration from all the best stories, showing him and his side characters age in real time. That would be a total dream.

One day. Not anytime soon of course, but we’ve come so far with the genre that it isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

I think it will happen sooner rather than later. DC seems to be gradually loosening their grip on their characters and ironically i think its due to them stumbling on the movie side. I believe we will get a Batman show at some point. Theres no way DC's not looking at what Marvel did with Daredevil and not thinking "well s*** we could do this too!"

Take it a step further do a Superman series and Wonder Woman and Flash and Aquaman all set in the DCCU where there you have plenty of time to do build ups and then just make Justice League movies.

For a gritty crime thriller, which is what Batman is in its essence, you dont even need a huge budget. Maybe just for his vehicles and gadgets and stuff but a Batman show could be very cost effective overall.

DC has volumes and volumes of comic stories that if adopted would be amazing. Imagine a Flashpoint Flash series at this point they should scrap the Nightwing movie and do a series of it.

Morrisons Seven Soldiers would be perfect for TV. Seven separate and varied shows that lock together to tell one larger story.

Justice League or more so the WB deserves the embarrassment and flack they are getting. However the actors and the crew and directors don't. This is on them (the WB) and them alone.
