Pokémon It's the Pokémon Thread

Ok I clocked it. Good ending, very happy with it. Can’t wait for more. Hopefully they do an Australian version next!

Did you complete the post-game part?

Hop gets a good ending. I like the idea he becomes Sonia's assistant and he gets the opposite mascot legendary. I just realized there is no trio legendaries. There's only Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus. Game Freak overcorrected here, IMO. I think Kanto/Johto had the right amount.

Also can I say that Bug-types have gotten so good with these last two generations. Much better than the early ones. Same with the early bird. Corviknight has beaten Talonflame and Staraptor for the number one spot.

So I didn't know the fossil Pokémon this generation are based on how British paleontologists used to incorrectly reconstruct dinosaur fossils.

yeah I get that. I’m about to challenge Leon and I haven’t lost once plus there’s a bit of handholding but, to be honest, the target demographic is not just people who haven’t played a Pokémon game before but might literally have never played any game before. So it makes sense if they loose bad they might just choose to stop playing.

I’ve absolutely adored exploring all the regions though. Finally found where all the wailmer pods are! Maybe when I’m done I’ll just grow a team of unbeatable water types? I love water types!

I haven't beat the game yet (got the 8 badges though) and I've just been training up some themed teams. I got my perfect psychic team and now I'm working on ghost.

Ha that’s really cool! Weird to think the current gen might not recognise the style because it’s from their parents era

Try the Pokémon centre. They have just about every Pokémon covered I think

Stop depressing me. :argh:

But yeah after these games the Wild Area should definitely be the way these games should be structured for now on. Instead of breaking it up in little sections they can just call them Routes. Also having a better narrative this time around. Also instead of Dynamax dens we can have giant super strong spawns that are treated as a boss or bring back hordes.

so what's the difference between Sword and Shield versions? Is it like prior games where each version contains a different set of Pokemon?

So, to collect all Pokemon in these new games, do you have to find someone else with the other version and trade for those missing Pokemon?

I haven't really played these games beyond the initial set of games. but, I remember that's how they did it way back then. You had to link up to another gameboy with the other version, and some Pokemon could only evolve by trading between the two versions.

Is that still the case?

Is it possible for one person to catch all Pokemon by playing one version, then importing the saves/Pokemon to the other version?

There are version exclusive Pokémon still. Version exclusive evolutions and Gyms. I think it's easier to trade for Pokémon not in your version cause of online trading.

Also update to my team. I'm now using Grimmsnarl and Duraludon in place of my Hatterene and Frosmoth (Snom is so cute). I love the latter, but the former are so freaking cool looking for me. I just need the TR for Dragon Pulse and Heavy Slam to finish my Duraludon's moveset.

So there are references to a Minor division of Gym Leaders, but as far as I can tell they aren't actually in the game.

Aaaaand they're not. :(

There's speculation that they may be added to a sequel to these games. I was wondering what happened to that report by Gamerant that there are 18 gym leaders with 8 of them as Major League and 10 of them as Minor League.

So I just stumbled into the dark part of Pokemon and discovered that there are thirsty Raihan fans. :funny: I knew of Nessa and Bea, but not him.

Count me as a thirsty Raihan fan tbh.

:hehe:

Does anyone else miss the Pokémon Ride feature? I know they replaced it with Corviknight air taxi service and Rotom Bike, but I felt the Pokémon Ride service was a logical replacement for HMs. Now that I think of it, there were no Pokémon tropes such as boulder puzzles or dark caves.

Anyone else wonder why Milo didn't use any of the Applin line in his initial Gym battle. it probably would have been better than just using the Eldegoss line.

So I did the Favorite Pokémon picker tool and I got this:

  1. Dragonite
  2. Meowth
  3. Tyranitar
  4. Garchomp
  5. Milotic
  6. Charizard
  7. Lapras
  8. Snorlax
  9. Kingdra
  10. Sceptile
I feel like such a basic ***** with my top 10. :funny:

20 minutes is a lot for Pokemon...

I wonder if they’re ready to announce new games in the series yet? I mean sword and shield were so popular and they’ve already announced a BOTW sequel

Galarian Legendary Birds!

Kind of surprised they just went with DLC. Its smart, no doubt. I do wonder with Let's Go 2 is on the way...
