Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 57

But again it was Marvel's decision not delay it when they should have. I love the MCU, but they aren't blameless and most certainly for TDW. Thankfully they moved on.
Yes, but that is because of someone who is no longer in charge. It's not that I don't blame Marvel, it is simply the biggest issue from the period is no longer in power. So no longer an issue. Honestly, that Feige got anything done with Perlmutter around, is a minor miracle.

Welp.

I just bought and downloaded New Mutants from the PlayStation Store. Let’s see if it’s worth the $19.99.
It's not imo. I wasn't expecting much, and was still disappointed. Well in everything other then the hilarious accents. I threw me that Anya Taylor-Joy could suck in a movie, but then I remembered Glass and realized I had already seen that in an awful movie before.

God those accents were distracting.

I just finished it, while I don’t feel shortchanged, I don’t feel fulfilled either. I appreciated what they were gunning for, taking Xavier’s whole process of finding and guiding mutants and flipping it into a horror. But I’m just thinking the whole time, y’all are 5 powerful mutants, just gang up on Reyes ass and call it a day!

But I just really hate how the FOX regime took the comics, the characters, put them in a blender, and just changed everything up. Thank Feige those days are done.

I rented it (I have a few free rental codes) gonna check it out here shortly.

I know something that will be more amusing than watching New Mutants movie itself; type in 'New Mutants full movie' in youtube search bar, and you might be amused by the results in the hour and a half length videos using a shot from the movie as their thumbnail. So far in the first page I found a movie from the Asylum about military (and it honestly has better cinematography than what clips I saw of the last of the Fox Marvel movies), Stillwater, parts of Men in Black International, and a two and a half hour video of someone playing the lame Avengers game from Crystal Dynamics.

I will probably pick it up Fri when I go to grab Age of Calamity.

I'll wait for it be actually uploaded on youtube, by a member uploading it without charging audience for watching that trash.

My reaction to films released in 2020 so far

I'm this enthused to watch 'em.

After viewing New Mutants, I still maintain that Birds of Prey is the best CBM of 2020.

That’s not saying much I know, but still.

Crazy times.

Where does HBO Max go in Canada again...

No... no... anything but Crave. Time to save for one of those solo theaters.

@DarthSkywalker reminded me that HBO Max is only in 1080p unlike every other streaming service. Mother****er, Crave's still in ****ing 720p in browsers and stll doesn't have a Playstation app. :argh:

Stop crying, you have healthcare. :o

Yeah, I thought this might happen after what we saw last week and it makes me wonder, just how bad is HBO MAX doing? Because this feels like a desperate HBO MAX movie. Between this and Soul I am definitely going to enjoy Christmas Day.

Last month, they released their quarterly reports that HBO and HBO Max had 38M US subscribers and HBO Max had 28.7M subscribers (I'm assuming the 28.7M is within that 38M). What they didn't say was that was eligible subscribers and only 8.6M actually subscribed. With Amazon finally joining up with HBO Max, you have almost 5M additional subscribers who I guess had GO/Now who will convert to MAX. BUT, again those aren't new subscribers and I would assume is part of the 38M.

I mean this should bring in new subscribers. But since this is all new territory, not sure how well this will do for their streaming service.

A lot could change between now and then, but right now I probably will. There’s around 94 active cases in the country right now and I live in a more regional area, so I’m feeling reasonably comfortable with going to the movies.
Nice to hear your country and where you specifically live seems to have a decent handle on the pandemic, Roose. Hopefully it stays that way, for you and everyone's safety. A nice trip to the theater would be a nice bonus.

It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t position to be in right now in the film world and I’m just glad I’m not the executive who has to make these decisions.

Guess WB just said screw it and is hoping for a Christmas miracle.

That is a big domino. Many more I think will follow
