The Mandalorian The Mandalorian: General Thread

Visual continutiy with the OT I think really was a big part of this show's success.
I think the sequel trilogy also had that to an extent. For me quality and giving fans what they want is what wins out.

Favereau did the Chef Show on Netflix. For some reason I stopped watching and just got back into it. Most of you probably know it as the show where Gwyneth Platrow admitted she forgot she was in Spiderman.

There's an episode from S1 V2 in 2019 where he's cooking at Skywalker Ranch with Filoni. They're throwing around terms like Beskar and Dark Saber. Keep in mind this dropped on Netflix a few weeks or months before Mando S1 premieres. Funny how many little things made it in to that show. Worth a watch.

I absolutely love Chef Show.

New article and interview with Pedro Pascal. Talks a bit about Season 3 of the Mandalorian. Here's the link to full interview: ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘WW84’ Turn Pedro Pascal Into a Full-Blown Star

Going forward, as Mando tangles with his past and the mythology behind the Mandalorian code, “as much as he says this is the way, that doesn’t mean this is the only way,” said Pascal. “I find it fascinating playing with that. We don’t know what he ends up being. He took his helmet off in a room full of people.”

What’s coming for “The Mandalorian” Season Three and possible Mando appearances on the upcoming spin-off series? “I am told what’s happening and what the plan is,” said Pascal, “but I can’t share it. They are in the expansion of this world, where there are so many unexpected surprises and timelines that are going to be dealt with. If the character were to cross over into these worlds, it will be utilized in a way that isn’t meant to be expected. I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise of whether or not characters from the show we already know are crossing over.”

I loved season 2. I just hate that I have to wait so long for season 3. My favorite episode was The Jedi, seeing the live action Ashoka Tano and learning the name of the child (even though it took some time to get used to the name Groku) I also liked seeing the live action Bo-Katan.

I'm just curious. I know the focus is on TV right now, but is there a timeline to a new film?

I'd guess it'll be a few years, we still know nothing about Taika's project, and Rogue Squadron isn't in production yet.

With season 3 starting filming in April, unfortunately I don't think we are seeing season 3 until July 2022 at the earliest!

Depends on what else they have on tap most likely. Good to see it starts filming in April though. I feared it was father away then that.

Season 2 began filming in October 2019 and finished in April of 2020 released in late October 2020.
So, Season 3 can begin filming in April 2021 and finished September 2020 and then released in March 2022?

Started watching recently. And I had to do a quick google search to confirm that indeed, Billy Dee Williams isn't Carl Weathers. Cause I'm an idiot.

I am just hoping Rian's project is still cooking. Give it plenty of time, no need to rush it.
It seems unlikely but articles in the trades from when D&D dropped out of their movie which was only like, what, a year and a half ago still indicated Johnson's trilogy was in the works. Hard to imagine Disney having the stomach to invite the ****storm of controversy having Johnson back, they haven't exactly been making bold artistic moves with their IPs lately.

I'll be overjoyed if it is. I like The Mandalorian a lot but Johnson's interpretation of Star Wars is leaps and bound more interesting than Favreau's IMO and I'm not massively enthused about or interested in other shows that follow Mandalorian's non-stop fan service sugar rush style.

That's so funny, when I was a little kid I thought they were the same person too :funny:.
