You all still don’t believe they’re gonna let Snyder do Justice League Part 2 after this... four hour tour de force is released?

1. It's not just a Part 2 (which is the Knightmare universe and then it's undone). It's Part 3 where there's the final battle with Darkseid.

2. Snyder's movies have just grown progressively more expensive. And while I'm not in the movie or streaming business, but I don't see how X amount of watches equate to spending $250+ on a future movie. And I don't see any Studio spending that amount of money any time soon.

3. Most of these actors are busy for the next few years? So where does that put any sequel 3-4 years out?

Snyder is missing his true calling about teaching people how to fail up in business. Because that's his true talent imo.

Edit: they're promoting the hell out of it too. I see so many ad units of it on Twitter
Warner is super desperate with HBO MAX at the moment.

I prerequisite what I am saying here by saying no I don't think HBO Max let's him do a sequel. But I want to say to be fair onto point number 1, initially while this was conceived as a JL1-3, Zack could always combine his JL2 and JL3 ideas and make a 4 to 4.5 hr JL2.

But again, moot point because it won't happen.

Wouldn't it be more cost effective to have him make a 4.5 hour movie, then cut it in half so you have two movies to sell? Not that I think it would happen, but just in principle.

Possibly, but I think the length is a selling point

The trailer looks exactly like I expected. Washed out visuals, over the top slow-mo, ridiculous dialogue, the whole shebang. I laughed out loud when Joker said "We live in a society." How edgy. But honestly, it entices me to watch it more. I'll have quite the busy day between this and TFatWS.

That Twitter thread though was a great read. Especially after all the talk we just did about aspect ratio. All their choices look like crap by the way because Snyder doesn't properly frame it in a way that actually makes use of the wider screen. But the fact that the ratio chances in the trailer for the same shot is f-ing insane and leads me to believe it'll be like that in the film :funny:

He was going to do a whole Knightmare movie? I shouldn't be surprised, yet I am.
I imagine we're getting an abridged version with this in order to inflate the runtime to four hours. I would think at least an hour, if not more, will be dedicated to it.

I'm all for an underdog story. So part of me hopes this can redeem Snyder. But given the history... and that this just doesn't scream 4-quadrant movie... and it's really for a niche segment of his audience...

I think it'll do better than expected... but the expectations are not that high--to begin with.

Well, to be fair, his version wasn't what was shown in theaters.

It be very hypocritical of me to want a Richard Donner cut of Superman 2. And not see another director sort of in the same situation.

That still doesn't change the fact that I can see why Snyder was removed and agreed with WB's decision at that time.

David Ayer’s SS was also hatcheted up. A million directors in Hollywood can recall the same story. How many of those people get a 70 million dollar check to remake their movie to their hearts content? If Snyder is the underdog what are they?

It's very rare, I agree.

This is his one chance to prove to us that he knows something about the DCEU that isn't dependent on badass imagery.

I can root for him while expecting it not to change minds. You may not and that's okay with me.

And if he does what Snyder has always done... then it was an expected result. And it just another reason why studios shouldn't keep pouring money into flops. I'm fine with that too.

It is indeed rare. Hence why it is an underdog story. Not everyone gets to fight Apollo Creed, but Rocky did despite all odds. Now granted, Snyder is fairly unlikable. No argument there. But that doesn't mean this happening wasn't against all odds, and thus he was an underdog in getting this movie made.

You don't have to cheer for the underdog, lol

And yet somehow is by far the better person when it comes to Justice League directors.

It’s the one where Lois dies, Clark blames Batman, Superman succumbs to anti-life equation, Earth is conquered by Darkseid, remaining JL members try and send Flash back in time, MM replaces Lois?

Snyder has been such a smug d-bag I stopped rooting for him awhile ago.
My biggest issue with Snyder is how he knows how his fans are, and he eggs them on, which has resulted in a lot of harassment online. All for his own ends. That said, still somehow much better then the other guy.

I mean, it’s not hard to come off better than a recreational emotional terrorist. Snyder lowkey mostly just comes off as kinda dumb and arrogant.

Where they going to make an entire actual movie out of that, or was that one of those pipe dream situations?
