I could do without the briefs, but they don't bother me as much as the boots. It always annoys me a little when the give them a different cut. The "M" at the top is not only unique but works perfectly well on it own merits. (Why yes, I am aware that that's the nerdiest thing I've ever said.)

Why even bother with an animated Injustice movie? Just watch the original game's cutscenes at that rate. What a waste of resources.

But I really like the art style of the Superman show. Very pleasing to the eyes and I especially love the bright colors. I hope the actual animation is top notch.

I am fine conceptually with a cartoon Injustice movie. My issue is the DC Animated films largely suck or are at best mediocre and not worth watching

Well, yeah there's that too. Still in disbelief over how bad The Long Halloween movie looks. Talk about completely stripping the story of its unique and dynamic art style.

Marvel's Kevin Feige Reflects on Whitewashing Controversy of Doctor Strange's Ancient One

This is great. This shows that Marvel/Feige is aware of past whitewashing controversies (Ancient One, Maximoff twins etc) and wants to learn from that.

This gives me hope that they will actually cast a Romani POC as Victor Von Doom, and bring the plight of a long marginalized and discriminated minority group, to the forefront. I really hope Coogler gets first dibs on Doom for this reason

I’m cynical, but the Ancient One thing always stank more of them being terrified of showing a Tibetan character on screen for fear of offending China.
That's probably what it actually boiled down to. Was never a fan of the Swinton casting

On the Superman & Lois front, I think the one thing I so far do not like about the show is that the one brother's entire plot line is basically his life completely sucks, lol! The one with powers gets a lot of play in this show, but the other one gets like nothing positive. As a viewer, I am at this point like come on, give this dude SOMETHING good!

I feel lately every third or fourth animated movie they make ends up pretty damn good and worth watching. The most recent ones I can think of Re: Apokolips War, Suicide Squad Hell to Pay, Death of Superman, Constantine City of Demons, Justice League Dark, Superman Red Son. They churn out a gem every now and then but yeah by and large most of the output with kinda meh.

Marvel on the other hand, I cant think of one animated thing they’ve done in the past decade thats even watchable.

Last Marvel thing they did that was good was Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Sad they replaced it with the trash Avengers Assemble. I stopped watching the DC cartoons consistently at this point. Though I did enjoy Batman vs TMNT. That was pretty good

Apokolips War was straight-up garbage, imo. But I enjoyed Man of Tomorrow well enough, and to a lesser extent the Justice Society one. Last one I REALLY liked was Death of Superman. And Gotham By Gaslight. But I'll take all of 'em over any of Marvel's animated output, lol.

An unfortunate casualty of the Disney acquisition, they dedicated all of their animated fare squarely towards children and even worse; the animation on those series are REALLY cheap and poor, probably because of the demographic theyre aiming at.

I def agree the DC Animated stuff is miles better than Marvel's animated stuff. Though I don't call that an accomplishment. I wish both were better

TV Animation in general has gotten much cheaper these days. It's sad. I guess the market's just not what it used to be. Are "Saturday morning cartoons" even still a thing with kids anymore? I feel like streaming killed appointment television not just for the adults, but for kids, too.

The consensus surrounding DC’s animated output has put me off of watching any of their animated films. It doesn’t help that I think the character designs (generally) and the animation style (specifically) were unbearably ugly. That’s changed with Man of Tomorrow and Justice Society but the clips I’ve seen of the latter demonstrate stiff, distracting animation and I just haven’t gotten around to watching the former.

Young Justice used to look great but the most recent season was a massive downgrade in character design and put me off continuing it.

That whole 1940s/1950s era of cartoons were incredibly well produced, the Fleischer Superman, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, all the Warner Bros/Tex Avery stuff was top notch. Maybe because they spent more time and resources on them back in the day as opposed to now where theyre rushing it out.

My whole thing with animation these days is that they all look the same, nothing really has distinction. All of them have that anime look to them, they recycle the same voice actors in every project (Tara Strong I love you, but damn) it’s always more of the same.

Thank God we had Animaniacs, Dexter’s Lab, Batman and 90s Nicktoons (which I can’t believe half of them got past the censors) in our day.

Probably the best animated thing I've seen recently that uses rotoscoping is Undone.
