I've been waiting for this.
Venom in Spider-Man 3 almost looks and sounds like a dinosaur from Jurassic Park.
Venom looks very cool in SM3 admittedly and Raimi films him in a very dynamic way….but lawd what was Raimi THINKING giving Venom Topher’s voice?!?!! Seriously, he couldnt be bothered to modulate it even a little just to give him menace?
Hopefully I'm allowed to post this since it's not the full word haha.
Agreed! If there's a moment that can repeat Endgame's "portal" scene, well, this is it.
I honestly prefer Topher's voice to Hardy's. It's just Hardy being Hardy honestly. It's like he has it in his contract to do a stupid ass accent for every role lol.
I liked Venom's design in SM3 but don't like how he sounds. Venom shouldn't sound like a bird/velociraptor when he screams.I like Venoms design and characterization better in SM3. The only thing the Hardy film maybe did better was his size.
But i meant when Eddie is Venom. At least in Hardy’s movie he sounds cool. He sounds like a scary creature. In SM 3 Venom sounds like Topher Grace and its jarring hearing that voice come out of that face.

I didn't like how Venom's face kept changing. It should have been more consistent. He looked great when he had the mouth wide open.I like Venom in Spider-Man 3 way more, he is more scary and creepy. The design and cgi is also better imo.
what about his voice? whenever he talked it was just Topher Grace with deeper vocalsI like Venoms design and characterization better in SM3. The only thing the Hardy film maybe did better was his size.
you think that's something, it's crazy that feige had to go to HIS bosses to bat for zhao for eternals location shooting. dude has built their #1 franchise and he doesn't have full carte blancheRaimi has said repeatedly that he was NOT happy with the way SM-3 turned out -- and he owns his part in it. And a lot of fault has to be laid at Avi Arad's feet (and perhaps the late Laura Ziskin as well).
I'm still angry that after two wildly successful movies, Sony wouldn't simply let Raimi have creative control over SM-3 (and the aborted SM-4). He made so much money for them that they should've paid Arad to stay away and let Raimi do his own thing.
Nolan got creative control over his Batman trilogy at Warners, but Sony wouldn't extend Raimi that courtesy. Imagine how much better (and profitable) SM-3 would've been had they left Raimi alone.
You know I'm starting to take back my argument on withholding Tobey and Andrew on the first trailer. With this many views, they didn't even need to do it. I underestimated a lot of people already knowing that they're in this outside the fandom. I guess combined with Spider-Man's popularity in the MCU this thing can afford to hold off. Which is crazy. So I'm wondering how many views that next trailer is gonna get.
