Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 58

First Avenger up through rescuing the soldiers from the camp is great. First Avenger after that point feels like a mad dash to get to Avengers, and it really failed to make me care about Bucky.

I think it's become popular to give TFA more credit than it actually deserves.

Overall, it's not an all time great origin film, though there are some great aspects in there. There's a reason why TWS is often credited with raising MCU Steve's popularity.

I'm sorry I had to laugh at Grace Randolph's latest video, her top 10 of 2022 where accused MoM of having shameless fan service when SHE was one of the big scoopers thats was constantly pushing the "Tom Cruise will play Tony Stark" narrative. THAT would have been pointless, shameless fanservice.

I watch her sometimes and it seems she’s really just mad that all the stuff she was promising was gonna be in the movie wasnt in the movie thus making her look bad as a “scooper”.

Yeah TFA was far from perfect, I'd put Iron Man, BP, and Shang Chi all well above it in terms of Origin movies
But it got some hate when it came out, and I think made less than Thor 1, right? So on those terms, I think it's aged well and proven to be a solid middle-tier MCU movie

Black Panther isn't an origin movie. He has been the Black Panther for years and the movie acts more like a Civil War sequel than an origin movie, so I do not factor it into discussions about origin films

Why people keep paying attention to boggles my mind, especially with how often she's been wrong in providing scoops. It's almost like studios use her as a landing place for certain "leaks" to expose leakers within their companies.

Everything I wanted from Cap was given to me in Winter Soldier (well minus the physical wings :D ). There’s a lot I like about TFA but I only rate it overall about a 7/10. Good for sure and also a solid origin film, but otherwise not pushing for higher tier MCU for me.

Note 1. WTF are you doing?
Note 2. Stop embarrassing me.
Note 3. No!
Note 4. Definitely do NOT do that.
Note 5. Is there anyone who can make a proper film at Sony?
Note 6. No, I can’t speak to Amy for the next month.
Note 7. No, I can’t speak to Avi through 2022.
Note 8. No, I can’t speak to Tom, ever.
Note 9. No seriously, WTF are you doing?!!

Note 5.5: Spider-Verse was pretty good.

Watching Ragnarok. What I would give to watch the reaction of some the first time they heard Thor's conversation with Surtur. :hehe:

No joke: She’d make a great live action Lois Lane as well.

She was my personnel casting choice on the forums, when MOS was in preproduction and casting.

I still remember certain members were against it because she was too "hot" to play Lois. No joke. :funny:

It took The Boys to really nail down how best to use their screen time. Maybe Marvel will learn how to do it some day as well.

You're probably right and I can see that. WB is ok with having him back but Cavill might be like "Great, now pay me Gal Gadot money and give me a pass at the script and we're good," and WB is laughing at it.

But honestly, if thats the kind of stalemate they're at then they SHOULD just recast him and just be done with it already! Get a new Superman. The hardcore Snyder people are going to revolt but everyone is begging for a new Superman movie one way or the other. a KAL-EL Superman movie not all these weird ass offshoots they're doing.

The notion that Cavill thinks he's in any position to demand anything from the studio is hilarious. :funny: His Superman wasn't well received and he owes his career to the role.

From an acting and talent standpoint he's easily replaceable. The guy's a block a wood and his Superman was dull as dishwater. He's got a great look but that's it. He's got nothing else.

A very unamused face, and confusion as to why Thor now has an 80's 70's pop song like he's Peter Quill.

Did you just call Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song, an 80s pop song? What about that 1970 rock song, is "pop" exactly? Is it the lyrics about Valhalla? The electric guitar? The drum and bass?
