Hell I would have even taken more than only two minutes of actual location shots apart from funnier jokes.

Drizzy we should’ve got more location shots, some jokes and less pauses between Majors and Pfeiffer’s dialogue.

Paul Rudd was just as charming as he could be though, that was in the plus column.

I probably shouldn't post it and blow up my deep connections, but I do have a script leak from the next Avengers:

Captain Marvel: "Shang-Chi has lost his phone and cannot be contacted for crossover films going forward."
Falcon: "Where did these rings come from?"

Bruce: "Don't worry about it. We found them randomly."

I also could have done without seeing
M.O.D.O.K.'s pasty naked butt.

He'll be in it, they'll just censor him South Park style. :o

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Quantumania was garbage.

Like it’s amazing how they had all this VFX, heavy hitters like Pfeiffer, Douglas, Majors and Rudd and laid out all this exposition (Flick you were SO right) and still was boring as hell.

It was too serious, lacked the much needed MCU/Ant-Man comedy we expect, and they have done a lackluster job in building Kang up to this Avengers level threat he’s supposed to be.

But yeah, I say all that to say big disappointment IMO.
Wow…I’m shocked you hated this. I definitely didn’t see this coming. :funny:

This scene lives rent free in my head Flick

I'll be right there with you saying "GO Spawny! Go Spawny!"

Spawn is coming up next in my friend groups bad movie night due to unaccountably being on the Netflix Top 10 list for last week in Canada (?!?!). Feel like we're in for a treat.

My only knowledge of Spawn is what I've gleamed from reading about the history of Image Comics and pissing myself laughing at Todd McFarlane's host segments from the HBO show where he acts exactly like a Canadian Garth Marenghi.

It’s why I both enjoyed the movie and also completely understand why it doesn’t work for a lot of people :funny:
I kind of wanted Modok to look as silly as possible so it didn’t even count as a negative for me, but yeah, totally understandable how it could Jar Jar Binks up the joint for others. :D

The more I think about MODOK's role in the movie the less I understand it. It's one of of those creative decisions that I just sit there thinking "why did you decide to do that" :funny:
I can see why they did it. They were probably thinking he's such a bizarre villain that if you have a really out-there movie in the lineup, you might as well squeeze him in there because you may not get that opportunity again.

I'm actually self reflecting on why I can so willingly accept a talking raccoon for almost ten years but I can't take a giant floating head with baby arms and legs seriously.

Because Modok looks completely stupid...? :p

Because, quite frankly, it is lazy design. Probably because they wanted the actor recognizable, resulting in the George Lopez style look. The stupid Avengers game, with their MCU stunt actors, actually had a better MODOK. Hell, the Face of Boe is a better design for MODOK than what we got in the MCU. It is quite frankly, on par with the Ant Man team, without someone with real talent leading them.

It’s a tough one as I would love if China could be 100% ignored and F off, but obviously they have power from the size of their box office. Their restrictions seem quite petty in certain cases on top of being draconian.

I think this is less catering to the CCP than it is catering the Chinese audience. Apparently, by Chinese standards, Simu Liu is ugly.

If that’s the case, it seems seriously harsh to remove him from the MCU intro altogether. I want to feel good that it’s not the CCP for once, but this also feels pretty bad. Ugly people (not that he’s ugly) can’t be heroes? :csad: I hope he goes on to become a big success as Shang Chi despite these restrictions/obstacles.

The big problem with Kang is that he isn't one big threat... he's lots and lots of little ones. Kinda can't believe they've essentially gone for the same set up as The Council Of Ricks.
