Across the Kraven-verse: How Sony Won the Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 59

It looks like they used the same obvious studio backlot from Brooklyn 99.

It's summer baby! My 2pm screening is like 70% full. Usually like 30%.

Here in MI, it went from pleasant 60s to ungodly high 80s and low 90s. I expect the theater to be a popular choice this weekend.

Only took 6 months, but Black Adam is finally bringing me real entertainment. The fallout has been a blast.

I think the fact he went crawling back to Maui was all the signs we needed that Dwayne got a bit of a wake up call.

I usually never buy into the hype, or I at least try not to, but after seeing ATSV I completely understand the comparisons to ESB/IW and my god did it live up to my expectations and then some.

Loved it and outside of Dead Reckoning or Dune: Part 2 I don't see a single movie coming close to topping it unless Barbie or Oppenheimer really surprise me, but I honestly kind of doubt it.

I expect both movies to be pretty great though.

9 mins before trailers!!!! I am so excited for this! By far my number 1 film for rest of the summer for anticipation! Again, I am only really excited for this, Barbie, and MI7, though I will probably watch Transformers, Oppenheimer, Indy, etc. But I am not really pumped for those.

My favorite shot/moment of Across the Spider-Verse:

I consider myself to be one of the biggest Spider-Man 2 fans in the world, but unless it changes through repeat viewings that movie has officially been dethroned as my favorite Spider-Man film thanks to ATSV.

It honestly makes NWH and MOM look tame in comparison too, but other than ITSV and EEAAO I can't think of any other films that have nailed the Multiverse concept as much as this one.

Leave it to other studios besides Disney/Marvel to do it actual justice.

Made a good attempt at my life.

God, what a great movie. Theater was pleasantly full. And given the reaction to the "To be continued", I think there is going to be plenty of anticipation for Beyond the Spider-verse. Definitely going to be needing it on bluray to catch all the references, but good lord, what an amazing movie.

The funny thing is, NWH tried to steal from ITSV, and then ATSV just upped it up beyond NWH. It being a Part 1 makes it hard for me to put it above ITSV, but it was an amazing movie, with just incredible animation. Gwen's world was just amazing what they did with the colors.

I am going to see this so many times.

ATSV was great as expected. Gorgeous, imaginative fun with compelling twists on familiar stories. Lots more focus on Spider-Gwen here and came out loving her more than ever.

The first did feel like it packed a better punch narratively and will stick with me more. Though this story still needs to play-out. Did feel like the grandiose multiverse stuff towards the end getting a bit over-whelming. Between NWH and this I am missing the smaller-scale, street-level and intimate Spider-Man stories.
