Let's try and keep this thread on track....it's for discussing Ben Affleck playing Batman.
Keep the generalizations about people out of here.....keep the name calling out of here. Be civil.
With respect, a man with depression and other mental issues caused by his dysfunctional upbringing, entering into an altercation with his own family members, which was dropped with no further action by the police... is not the same as a man sexually assaulting a woman.
yea, affleck looks awesome in the batsuit.
it's like the jim lee version come to life.
but definitive batman for me is probably the way either neal adams or jim aparo draws him. blue n grey n yellow symbol fo' lyfe!
The picture of Affleck in the Batsuit is OK.....but when I mostly read Batman comics they were being drawn by two of the best....Neal Adams and Jim Aparo. To me Bats is more lean. He's muscular but not blocky.
I think Ben needs help. The drinking, the fluctuation in weight, the Botox injections, the divorce, and the obvious emotional disconnect from his role as Batman. I think this should be taken as a cry for help, he definitely has issues.
People can hate and shun him, or they can try to forgive and support him to get help and improve on his life. Maybe it's me, but I would rather see the guy take a long break to get his life back in order and reflect on his mistakes, then to see people chase him with torches and pitchforks.
This is how I see Batman as well. I get TDKReturns influence here, but that isn't prime time Batman for me.The picture of Affleck in the Batsuit is OK.....but when I mostly read Batman comics they were being drawn by two of the best....Neal Adams and Jim Aparo. Aparo, Adams, and Breyfogle all the way. Not much of a fan of Batman drawn as a hulking brute.
Puffy is definitely a good word for it.
The same complaint the Begins suit got, although I never really understood it. The only problem with that suit was was how the cowl didn't quite work with Bale's face at times.
I think the difference might be that the BvS was deliberately engineered to look that big, whereas the Begins suit puffiness was largely due to issues with construction and fit. The technology for these kinds of comic book suits has done on in leaps and bounds in the last ten years.
I guess it just bugs me more in BvS. Affleck had a great physique... he didn't need all that padding (even if they were goinig for a DKR feel).
He he hangs around, I hope they slim the suits down.
I also loved Aparo's Batman. My favorite is probably Alan Davis
YES! I finally come across someone who appreciates Davis' fine work in Batman. Not to say that he's my favorite Batman artist, but I never see him mentioned at all. Probably didn't have a long enough tenure.
