Reminds me of instances in the Ultimate comics in which they casually referenced DC like this one:God, we're all so thirsty for Superman news that a mere winky throwaway mention of him in a Marvel movie is causing the internet to go in a frenzy. "SUPERMAN EXISTS IN THE MCU?" No, people its a stupid throwaway line like when Aunt May said to Peter "You're not Superman you know..." in SM1. Thats all.
They also apparently mention Batman in the Eternals movie as well as one character is compared to him in the movie.Superman exists in the MCU....as a pop culture icon. Why does anyone think this is a big deal? It is click bait

I just can’t get over the fact that DC characters are acknowledged to exist(even if it’s in the form of referring to them as fictional characters within the universe) in the MCU before any of the Marvel Television shows.
In the grand scheme of things, you’re right it’s not a big deal as it’s not Batman and Superman are going to pop up in a Marvel film(they don’t have the rights) and Star Wars and Flash Gordon have been directly referenced before in these movies.I can believe it. Honestly, I see these references as absolutely being a nothing burger. Superman and Batman got mentioned. That is great. Barack Obama got mentioned in Luke Cage. Who bloody cares?

The earliest I recall is the first Punisher movie released in 1989 when they mentioned Batman.I suppose this is the first time any Marvel movie name dropped a DC character...
(In Spider-Man (2002) movie, Aunt May mentions Superman)
I don't remember that, but I do remember DCAU Supergirl holding a Spider-Man comic in a bus and showing her disgust at the idea of spider-powers.FWIW, there was also that Captain America reference in Batman Beyond ROTJ.

In other news:
That’s really screwed up how they treated Ruby and people on the Batwoman set.
