And I'm not really liking their version of the apocalyptic future. Looks too..I don't know. Like a disco with fireworks or something.

So, on point?

I guess i'm the only one who liked it...

No, you're not. Some purists will say its sacrilege but I think it's going to be fun to see events and conventions that we're well-versed in being played around with. Now Sarah is the one saving Kyle, an old T-800 takes out the original before he gets to do anything, the cop originally after Reese in the alley is now a T-1000 etc.

As I said, 'fun' is plobably the most apt word I can use right now.

Is that Robert Patrick on the left?

I think it is.

I liked the purple lasers at least.
Heh, there was something about how it looked here. Might be how shiny it seemed, or maybe felt more staged. But not a dealbreaker by any means.

How much did Cameron pay for stealing the Terminator idea? :oldrazz:

Did y'all forget?

How many people has Harlan Ellison sued in his career because every original sci-fi concept supposedly originated from him? :o

Did y'all forget? :)

Any word on the rating for this film yet?

Yeah, Arnold was the original selling point, who WOULD be talking about a relatively unproven fledgling director sitting in the seats during his first big release? It took him raising the bar continuously.

Cameron is successful because he is passionate, and has worked well with teams to realize his visions.

and what darthskywalker said.
That is the content of film in 1984. The Terminator wasn't even the top in box office, it was Ghostbuster, Beverly Hill Cop, Karate Kid, Gremlins and I kid you not Footloose.

Cameron was an unknown and just starting out, and he was most certainly a complete newbe who took his opportunity and churned out great action & thrillers later on. Cameron didn't get going until after T2, which was when he became much more publically noticed.

Arnold was already getting on people's radar with his Conan films and he was well known among some people for his Mr Universe/Mr Olympic exploits and "Pumping Iron" documentary. I said that the Terminator film was successful no matter if Cameron was at helm and it probably wouldn't be memorable if Arnie wasn't in the film.

Anyone who can sit through Terminator, Judgment Day and Aliens, and with a straight face say their quality has nothing to do with Cameron is "one of those".

Titanic and Avatar didn't sell on their own. They may not be my favorite films, but people flocked to them because of Cameron. And Cameron established that name in the 80s and early 90s making these films.
The film quality included Arnold's take on the Terminator. If it was anyone else it would probably be a generic person who couldn't convey the presence that Arnold had. There are no ifs and buts about it. As for Aliens, it was indeed an inferior film compared to Alien, I sat through both Alien film and nothing came close to the effect that the first Alien had on us audience. Avatar is Cameron's worst in term of narrative. It is true that people flock to films like Avatar because of Cameron but back in early 1980s, no one flock to see a Cameron film. But I'm digressing.

I will say this, that young vs old Arnold fight scene could be really awesome. I have to watch that.

Lee Byung Hun was a great actor back in SoKor, but in Hollywood, he was always relegated to no-substance action man role like every other Asians who tried to break into Hollywood. It's sad.

I think ''Hollywood'' need to watch 'I Saw the Devil' and 'Masquerade', because he's pretty good actor.

yeah i was thinking the same thing... i hope this doesnt result in one of these cheesy situations where he and the new T1000 have some weird moment where they look at each other or sth. like that... o_O

Salvation was a disappointment, but Anton Yelchin made a great Kyle Reese.

This . Too bad he got stuck in a ******ass movie :csad:.

Anyway, the trailer had some generic editing, but I still think the movie looks surprisingly ok. Could go either way.

i thought the trailer was good
definitely looks better than salvation and no.3

wish the trailer had some matt smith shots though, or if there was i missed them

I had no idea that you spoke for everyone. You really are a fool. You're the same person who will complain about what Cameron did to the alien yet look the other way about what Ridley did to the Jockeys.

Yep, Prometheus says "hi." That ruined the Aliens more than anything Cameron did.

Cameron haters are hilarious.

Aliens is one thing but Terminator is Cameron's baby. It's his iconic signature sci-fi creation. To say that it was successful in spite of him is beyond absurd. It wouldn't EXIST without him. It's like saying Spider-Man would have been successful despite Stan Lee.

Next we are going to hear that Alan Taylor is a better director than James Cameron. Even lame Avatar/Titanic James Cameron is a world class director.

It's not even a Burton/Nolan type of deal where both directors were interpreting someone else's pre-existing material to various degrees of success. Cameron's Terminator films are the source material. He's the creator. Terminator begins and ends with him.

You guys gotta admit, Genisys looks xtremely kool.
