Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 57

You can call it 'Harry Potter and the twitter thread of fire"

I would be more excited for a BW related movie if it took place after Infinity War during the five year time skip so we could see more of Widow’s life in a post-snap world. Making it a prequel that largely takes place between Civil War and Infinity War doesn’t do much for me. Does anyone here really care to know what Natasha was doing after Civil War? Now that doesn’t mean the movie will be bad or anything, but I can’t say I’m that enthused about the timeline this movie takes in.

I prefer pre-Infinity War because I'm going to ignore Infinity War when watching the movies that came before it, and there's a better chance that this'll work as a Captain America sequel.

If Natasha is referred to as Black Widow and then Yelena is then referred to as Black Widow I won't like it, given my feelings on legacy characters (but I'd still probably watch a Yelena movie because I appreciate a good sexy female spy flick), but if it's just passing on the general female spy role then cool.

Just no. Bring new creative figures to the big screen instead of changing the figure who hold the title... We will have Iron Heart, Sam "Cap" Wilson, Lady Thor, Shehulk, Widow 2.0 and Hawkeyes Daughter... Its to much of the same. To be female or black should be no innovation of a figure in 2020.

Hawkeye's daughter isn't the new "Hawkeye" (another of the cases where I haven't heard the name in the movies), Kate Bishop is.

Taking this with a grain of salt until trade outlets report this but if true then I wouldn’t mind another stab on John but I’d prefer another television show instead of a another movie personally. Most interesting thing about this rumor is that Keanu may come back.

If we were gonna get a Constantine movie I'd rather it be more comic accurate instead of bringing Keanu back who is nothing like John Constantine.
I'm guessing Keanu's picture was used cause he was in the previous movie, and knowledge of that take's existence is more well known than how the CW handled his character.

i feel like Constantine, from the little I know, is better suited for TV. I know they had that one show, but a show on HBO Max or just HBO seems like a better fit than a full fledged movie.

But I'm not mad at it.

Apparently according to Jeremy Conrad(who’s pretty hit-or-miss) Warners is working on yet another JL live action movie that will be separate from the Snyder-Verse. Take it with a grain of salt for now.

Edit:

I don't believe it for even a second

Batgirl 2 is going to be in development next.

And is Justice League Dark still a priority or nah?

Their Fandome thing is next month, there should be some clarity?

Even as a kid I thought that movie was stupid. And kid me thought The Phantom Menace was amazeballs on first viewing, so that should tell you something.

I still love phantom menace. I watched it again a few weeks ago. Those prequels look a lot better now given the the travesty that were the sequels.

Nah, the sequels had plenty of issues but were still miles better than the prequels to me.

I would love to believe that there’s a non-Snyder Justice League in the pipeline, but at this point, I just can’t.

Are we going to have three different actors playing Batman simultaneously?

How many simultaneous Jokers will there be?

WB has been kinda into this thing of having multiple heroes playing the same role for some reason.

Remember back in the day, they had JL: Mortal which would've caused for 2 versions of Batman (Armie Hammer and Christian Bale). And while JLM was going, they still were developing solos with separate actors than the JLM cast for various heroes like Flash, GL, etc.

I guess in theory it shoudn't be a problem. I don't think the audiences really care. I just don't see why do it, but that's just me

I say maintaining multiple live action versions of the same character in live action at the same time is a bad idea, in part, because it invites negative comparison. Cavill's Superman and Miller's Flash were both subject to criticism because many fans preferred their WB counterparts. It also leads to fans asking why the powers that be can't just move the guy or gal we already like onto the big screen, and it can create bad feelings when a role is recast. And I think fans would be less likely to watch, say, a Flash movie if they are sitting on dozens of Flash episodes in their Netflix queue.

Both Marvel and DC have a sufficiently large stable of characters. Both should be able to avoid putting dueling versions of the same character onscreen.

I forgot all about the cape in the collar Pattinson wears these days.

EDIT: That typo was unintended, but I'll keep it cause it looks amusing for me now.

I disagree. I’m actually find this fascinating, and it makes DC stand out more from Marvel. DC comics never seemed to be as cohesive a universe as Marvel, and DC has always played around with the multiverse way more than Marvel has. This move to head in this direction makes sense for me and I find it refreshing. Not everything needs to be like the MCU.

I also disagree with your point on the Flash movie mad I don’t see the widespread availability of a Flash show having any negative impact on fans enthusiasm for a Flash movie especially if that Flash movie will likely have better production values than a cheap, and rather cheesy CW show version. They will definitely be way more people watching the movie version than the people who’ve seen the show(if the movie rebounds after this is all over).
