No Way Home Spider-Man: No Way Home General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

I honestly prefer Topher's voice to Hardy's. It's just Hardy being Hardy honestly. It's like he has it in his contract to do a stupid ass accent for every role lol.

Man I swear there were people on social media up in arms about Hardy's voice claiming he was doing a Blaccent. Low-key had me dying of laughter

I'm now thinking we may even get three trailers out of this. Another trailer in Early/ mid october focusing on the villains. And then another final trailer a week or two after Eternals showcasing our boys.
I could totally see this happening honestly and I'm here for it. The buildup to seeing all 3 spideys is already huge and I can see Disney and Sony trying to milk that as much as they can until they're revealed in the final trailer and then the internet explodes haha.

The question no-one seems to have been asking is: Will Peter still have a secret identity by the end of the movie or will he choose to live with a public one as a result of all the fallout from trying to hide it again?

If the writers are brave enough, this would have a bittersweet ending where MJ not only doesnt remember Peter's ID, she forgets their relationship entirely. But there will still be that hint that she has feelings for him. There has to be some sort of personal sacrifice in exchange for Peter's spell over the world.

That's a really good question. I want him to remain secret. There's too many known heroes already in the MCU. I like having secret identities in my superhero movies.

Based on the bit of narrative we've seen in the trailer, Strange pitting the mishap on Peter living two different lives, my guess is that by the end of the movie he'll accept having the world know he's Spider-Man. Marvel/Feige have made pretty big decisions on the characterization of this Peter Parker, tying him way more to the MCU than we've expected and I wouldn't expect that to change.

You know I'm starting to take back my argument on withholding Tobey and Andrew on the first trailer. With this many views, they didn't even need to do it. I underestimated a lot of people already knowing that they're in this outside the fandom. I guess combined with Spider-Man's popularity in the MCU this thing can afford to hold off. Which is crazy. So I'm wondering how many views that next trailer is gonna get.
I don't think they will release another trailer until maybe a week or two before the movie comes out. And while it'll blow up just like this one did, it might not outdo the first one since at that point everybody is gonna go to see the movie.

The second Endgame and IW trailers didn't get as many views as their firsts

What happened to Seamus McGarvey? Did his schedule change and he had to pull out?

When I saw the trailer, I knew the look didn’t seem as distinct like you would expect from McGarvey.

But i meant when Eddie is Venom. At least in Hardy’s movie he sounds cool. He sounds like a scary creature. In SM 3 Venom sounds like Topher Grace and its jarring hearing that voice come out of that face.
This. Hardy at least changed his voice when he was Venom. Topher made absolutely no effort to change anything about his voice and it was digitally altered in post for the few lines that he had while speaking as Venom, which were pretty much all in that scene where he recruits Sandman. It's funny how people wouldn't mind seeing a reference to Emo Peter in No Way Home (at least judging from the memes) but absolutely no one is asking for Topher to return. He was okay as an unlikeable Eddie Brock but he was all wrong for Venom.

Just re-watching Spider-Man 2. Yeesh the cinematography is great. Far greater than most super hero movies today. The fight scenes with Ock are just shot perfectly. Minimal cuts and a lot of wide shots and pan arounds. Interesting to see what Bill Pop does with Shang Chi

99% sure Disney will do a Spidey movie marathon on their cable networks the weekend NWH comes out. Since they did that huge deal with Sony, I think they’ll have the marathon on FX and Freeform.

I heard he dropped out because he got Covid, but not sure if that's 100% legitimate.

While I would like it a secret, based on the story it seems as if Peter will probably accept that it's too costly to retain this spell because of all the negative effects of it and will choose to live with a public identity.

It seems it would be a bit like Flashpoint where Barry Allen wants to change the past but then has to undo it. That's the way these stories usually go.

Yeah I agree, for the reasons you stated as well giving them the ability to "put the toys back in the toybox". After this, regardless if Spidey stays in the MCU or not, there's gonna be more Spider-Man movies and I don't think Sony is dumb to reboot again (knock on wood). But I imagine they are going to probably want as much of a blank slate as possible for the next director/writers to take over (especially if they don't renew the Disney/Sony deal). And having Spidey's ID known worldwide would probably be too big of an elephant in the room for the next team to deal with.

WHAT. This does NOT look like Avatar. :funny:

Just goes to show you that the final product will always depend on the Director's capabilities. Just look at "The Avengers" and "Godzilla (2014)". Both films were shot by the same cinematographer and yet look completely different from each other.

Disagree. In Avengers I thought everyone looked like radioactive dinosaurs. :liz:
