The Superhero Cinematic Civil War

Why wouldn't you blame him? He's the one that spent most time working on that movie than anyone else on the planet. Not to mention, unlike the Ayer case or the Snyder case or the DeCosta case, there are absolutely zero reports, leaks, or crew testimonies of any kind to suggest that control got taken away from him at any point during production, or that he was forced to do very extensive reshoots, or that he was rushed, or anything of the sort. He also proudly boasted about how the cameos were his idea. The only scene that was ever reshot was the Clooney scene, which was brilliant.

Mamá was a dog**** movie too so I don't know why it's unbelievable to accept The Flash was bad because he's a bad director. He is a bad director.
With how much of a mess that movie turned out to be during production, there's no way you can pin the blame on just one person, especially a gun for hire director who didn't even write it. The story was one of if not the biggest problem about the movie.

He's not griping, it's just his opinion that's shared by a lot of people.

he is griping a little, 'those damn black leather suits'...

there's nothing wrong with the leather costumes for the first film, apart from wolverine, and even then he looks alright in it.
they kept storm's cape even though there's no damn reason for it being there, they tried to be a faithful as possible without being ridiculous looking.
cyclops and jean grey's original costumes were mainly black, with a bit of yellow, and storms was all black.
nobody complained when batman's grey tights were changed to black rubber, so if anyone is complaining about black x-men costumes they are hypocrites.

They're not hypocrites. They're just people that didn't like those costumes for varying reasons. If you liked them, that's fine. But people have a right to not like them. Nature of opinions

if they had no problem with batman's grey tights being changed to black rubber, then they are being hypocrites if they think the x-men costumes were too far in deviation from their original comic book costumes.

The Batman costume is a different costume in a movie with a different design aesthetic. You're comparing apples to sand paper. Disagreeing with your opinion or liking one thing and not another doesn't make one a hypocrite. I can love olives in a salad but not a pizza. That doesn't make me a hypocrite. So stop calling people that

the black rubber batman suit from batman begins is not in a different design aesthetic from the first x-men film. both the batman movie and x-men film is in a natural style flick with natural acting and realistic surroundings. nolan was influenced by that x-men aesthetic
if you accept one but not the other costume you are not being consistent with your opinion.

They're 2 different movies in 2 different universes based on different material. What a Batman fan wants or accepts isn't the same as what an X-Men fan may want or accept. So again, apples to sand paper. The fact both opted for a natural environment is immaterial. You can hold the opinion that it's a hypocritical POV and that's fine, but that doesn't make it a fact.

So stop insulting people.

i didn't mean to insult anyone, just pointing out an inconsistency with opinion that has been going on for years.

You called people hypocrites. That is an insult. You typed it that way. Your intention was to insult.

So here is SF's Ted Talk to yall. Think before you type and phrase things more politely. Case in point here, "I find this POV hypocritical cause of X, Y, and Z" isn't insulting people. You're providing an argument. "You belive this so you are a hypocrite" is an accusation and attack on someone's character. Therefore, an insult. There are ways to post on here and get your point across without antagonism and insults. So before posting, check you're phrasing.

ok, sorry about that...
and just to add, there is not that much difference to batman and x-men fan's expectations when it comes to costumes in movies.
when batman got the grey tights treatment in batman v superman there was an overwhelming outcry of 'finally', just as there was an outcry of 'finally' when the x-men costumes had a dash of yellow to go with the dark in first class.

He was the one that agreed to direct the story given to him. And even so, I disagree. The story was the least of the problems compared to the **** VFX, the god-awful cinematography and awful costume design. All of which you can absolutely attribute to Andy. He was also the one responsible for putrid decisions such as the dead people cameos, and the infamous babies scene.
