Not his fault, no. But was he the only Arsenal player to refuse to cut his wages during lockdown? Or was it Guendouzi also?
Gonna watch live Lee?that was a boring as hell match.... tie was decided in the first leg.... Roll on Monday
Well I hope you enjoy it, and are able to catch the HLs of a victory.unfortunately my Monday nights are booked out with a gaming session

Well, no, no one is obliged to do anything. The players aren't obliged to take a wage cut though anymore than the day to day staff, at the end of the day Ozil still has bills to pay like everyone else, they're just more expensive bills. I wonder did Kroenke take a wage cut, you can guarantee he was claiming some sort of wage from Arsenal as were all the board members.
It's like that argument Matt Hancock put forward, criticising footballers as if it was their duty to take a wage cut to help out.. he kept his fat gob shut though about his millionaire & billionaire friends though that own, run companies & what they were doing to help out.
So you want a symbolic gesture from an employee that will save no one's job, but will save an insanely rich jackass from having to pay the one employees they can't just fire? An employee who in particular gives a lot to charity no less.Well, no, no one is obliged to do anything.
But perhaps, as a show of solidarity from the teams highest earner, cutting his wages with the rest of the team would've been a good look.
Anyway, I realise it looks like I'm trying to blame Özil for this, and I'm really not. Kroenke is definitely to blame for this, and it's gonna look absolutely terrible when they go out and spend many, many millions of pounds on whatever player they are going to sign.
Wow, that is massive news for Utd. Could be a whole bunch of money saved.

The money they pay to agents and salary make that very easy.I always felt the "MU are getting squeezed for money" argument is pretty silly because half the time we choose to go after expensive players. Maguire and Sancho are just 2 examples where we go for players who would cost just the same if City or Liverpool were trying to make a deal.
I have a strong dislike for City but I gotta give them some props for their transfers because I can't recall them paying anything close to what we paid for Pogba, Maguire or possibly Sancho. The winger they just signed, Torres was like 37m? I feel like they make smarter signings for 30-40m (maybe 50m at most) and they trust in those players evolving and becoming top tier players which to be fair has worked pretty well.
When you go after the hottest prospect in Europe (Sancho), or a top3-5 (at the time) midfielder in the world (Pogba), or the highest rated English CB in the league (Maguire) and these players are also under fairly long contracts, of course it's gonna cost you.
One of the highlights during the transfer window for me is reading about the teams that scoop up a quality player for 10-20m because they have 1 year left on their contract, or getting someone for free because their contract expired. There's some clubs actually being very clever in the transfer windows and not just throwing money out there.
Could meet in the semis from the bracket I saw.Wolves & United can't meet until the final IIRC?
I believe Torres cost them 20m.I always felt the "MU are getting squeezed for money" argument is pretty silly because half the time we choose to go after expensive players.
