Uncharted

I usually replay the games every year. Might need to play them twice next year just to get the foul taste of this Sony shart out of my mouth.

Drake is clearly supposed to have a rogue-ish Indiana Jones type personality to him while Sully is a “been there, done that, good luck kid” personality. I know this a “how it started” kind of movie but neither of them show any hint of those personalities.
I don't even know what parts of that trailer were "how they started" to be honest. In the games, Teen Drake was already getting into trouble and met Sully while still a kid. But here, Drake's already a grown (baby-faced) man working as a bartender before he even meets Sully. You can't do a "how-it-started" story when the guy's already in his trademark henley

Not to mention Nate was a street urchin in some third world country when he met Sully. Not working in some upscale city bar. Even when he retires and is well off he goes to work as a blue collar salvage diver. Nate doesn't work in fancy restaurant bars.

So, the main complaint is the presence or Mark Whalberg in this right?

Now i gotta replay the games to get this out of my mind.

Though whoever got casted as Chloe is spot on.

Come on, Sony.

My casting was right there.

This movie as I expected looks like complete dog sh*t. I’m a massive fan of the game series and the original actors/characters from the games, so of course I’m going to have a hard time accepting a new interpretation but this is just such a hilariously bad misfire I can’t believe it.

This movie shouldn’t exist in the first place but I literally cannot think of a worse casting choice than Tom Holland as Nate and Mark Whalberg as Sully lol. This looks so bad, although I will admit the actress playing Chloe seems pretty on point so I guess they got that right. But yeah I won’t be watching this, the games are all I need

this trailer confirmed my fears

tom holland and mark whalberg are just playing themselves they dont look, feel or act like drake and sully

Chris Evans, Chris Pratt or Bradley Cooper would have been my picks for Nate

This looks terrible and I would like to know, who from the studio thought having Tom Holland as Nate is a good idea. Talk about a major miss failure cast.

Isn't Ryan Reynolds the closest to Drake?

To y'all thinking Bruce Campbell fits Sully more than Mark Whalberg (who I think is more Nathan Drake material); I agree, but do you want him in what looks like a shoddy adaption?

I still cant wrap my head around the fact that someone at Sony Studio really thought Tom Holland is a perfect fit for Nate Drake.

Actually I think the situation was more..."well Uncharted fell through again, oh well," at which point Tom Holland - with whom they had a brand new shiny first look deal with - was like, "oh hey Uncharted? I'd love to do that!" And they were like "Huzzah!" I doubt it went beyond that.

Holland has said he pitched himself as Drake randomly to one of the execs, thinking he'd get shot down, and they loved the idea.
