I sure hope they announce another New 3DS only game at E3. Xenoblade shouldn't be the only one. That'd be dumb.

They'll probably announce some indies that are N3DS only. Maybe a retail title, but I don't know, I could see them not making another one. At the very least, I don't see them putting anything from a major franchise as N3DS only

Retro City Rampage Sees Best Full-Price Sales On Nintendo 3DS, Says Developer.June 8, 2015 . 2:32pm

“The other platforms had a 15 month head start, but the 3DS version of Retro City Rampage became the best-selling-at-full-price port,” says Brian Provinciano.

Retro City Rampage developer Brian Provinciano has talked extensively about sales of the game on various platforms in the past, sharing insight on how it has done on everything from PC to PlayStation to Nintendo platforms. During his revelations about sales across different devices, Provinciano noted last December that the Nintendo 3DS version of the game in particular had done rather well.

The 3DS version of Retro City Rampage was released 15 months after the other versions, but Provinciano stated that, had it seen a simultaneous 3DS release, “it could’ve become the best selling out of all eight platforms (or at least toe to toe),” just because the long-term sales of the Nintendo 3DS version had remained so healthy.

Then, earlier this week, Provinciano revealed another interesting tidbit regarding the 3DS version of Retro City Rampage.

“The other platforms had a 15 month head start, but the 3DS version of Retro City Rampage became the best-selling-at-full-price port,” Provinciano wrote on Twitter. He added, “[A GDC] report shows gamers only purchase 20% of their games at full price now. Luckily, 3DS’s still healthy w/most copies of RCR sold @ full price.”

Provinciano noted in a reply to a Twitter user that other platforms are “more discount driven ecosystems,” whereas this is not the case with the 3DS. In the past, he has attributed the success of Retro City Rampage on Nintendo 3DS to the game being a good fit for the platform, and to support the title has received from the Nintendo eShop team.

Just what is considered a “good fit” for the 3DS eShop is a little hard to narrow down at this point, though, since the online store has seen successes ranging from the side-scrolling Gunman Clive to Inti Creates’ Azure Striker Gunvolt, to Suda 51’s Liberation Maiden, which is a heavily anime-inspired shoot-em-up.

Ultimately, it could just come down to something as simple as good games on a popular platform. At the Game Developers Conference this year, TinyBuild’s Mike Rose shared some insight regarding digital sales for indie titles, pointing out that digital Nintendo 3DS titles with mid-level to high-level exposure and promotion could manage 50,000 units and beyond in sales—and without relying on price drops. (For reference, Azure Striker Gunvolt has managed 110,000 units with the help of a temporary sale or two, while Gunman Clive has sold well over 300,000 units on the 3DS.)

SEGA® UNVEILS LATEST CHAPTER IN SONIC BOOM™ FRANCHISE
SET TO RELEASE THIS HOLIDAY

Sonic Races To Nintendo 3DS™ In Sonic Boom™: Fire & Ice; SEGA also Announces Upcoming New Sonic The Hedgehog App

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – June 9th, 2015 – SEGA® of America Inc. announced today that its iconic ‘blue blur,’ Sonic the Hedgehog, will be racing once again in Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice for Nintendo 3DS. The newest title will build off of the highly successful animated series on Cartoon Network, currently the #1 program on all TV among boys 6-11 and 9-14 in its time period, and serve as the latest chapter in the Sonic Boom™ franchise. The game will introduce more adventure, speed, exploration, and an all-new fire and ice gameplay element that will help propel the action. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, featuring the triumphant return of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks, will be available exclusively on Nintendo 3DS later this year.

Developed by Sanzaru Games Inc., Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is a single player game with collaborative gameplay components that shares key characters, events, and lore of the Sonic Boom universe. Players will see Sonic and his friends in familiar settings as they embark on a brand new adventure to battle Dr. Eggman as well as an all-new super villain, D-Fekt. The team’s adventures will bring them to locations both familiar and new as they explore, race and protect their world.

To create an entirely new experience, Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will infuse fire and ice elements throughout gameplay, enabling new abilities to play out in special character moves and interactions with environments. The new title also delivers gameplay that enables players to run through the game at top speed, or take their time with deeper exploration and puzzle play.

New to the title is the introduction of Bot Racing, a supplemental game tied to the single player story with multiplayer gameplay. The new Bot Racing feature is an extension of Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice that is purely about racing and speed, where a user will unlock character themed Bots to challenge friends on fast courses or tracks.

“We really want this game to surprise and delight Sonic fans both new and old, and have created a unique, fun game that delivers,” said John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America. “By introducing unique elemental gameplay features like ice and fire, along with new speed and exploration gameplay, there is a lot to enjoy with Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice.”

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice for Nintendo 3DS will run alongside the top rated animated series on Cartoon Network, in addition to a national merchandising and promotional campaign. The Sonic Boom television series, coproduced by SEGA of America Inc. and OuiDO! Productions will continue to air new episodes throughout the year – and beyond!

This summer, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise will be supported with the launch of Sonic Central, a brand new Sonic the Hedgehog information app, arriving on both iOS and Android devices. This one-stop-shop for all things Sonic will give fans exclusive art and wallpapers, character information, clips from the animated series, concept art, and games. Sonic Pix, a unique function within the app, will inspire fans creativity by allowing them to include Sonic and his friends in their photos.

Sonic the Hedgehog first appeared as a videogame character in June 1991, and instantly became an icon for a generation of gamers. Defined by his super-fast speed and cool attitude, in the years since he first raced on to videogame consoles, Sonic has become a true global phenomenon with over 140 million videogames sold or downloaded worldwide across consoles, PC’s, mobile phones and tablets. SEGA’s iconic blue blur has also gone on to enjoy incredible success in many licensed areas, such as toys, apparel, comics and animation.

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice for Nintendo 3DS will be available in stores throughout North America in Holiday 2015.

Any of you guys pick up the new Dr. Mario? I played it a bit this morning and it's fun like all the others, but the addition of new powerups that will occasionally drop in are very cool.

Ohhhh, that's a good price. Hmmmm, I may just go ahead and get that. :hmm

The Nintendo 3DS has sold 15 million units in the United States, Nintendo announced this morning. That makes the 3DS the eighth Nintendo device to cross the 15 million mark in the region.

The Nintendo 3DS was launched in America on March 27th, 2011. Earlier this year, Nintendo released a newer variant of the device—the New Nintendo 3DS XL—due to which the 3DS has seen sales increase over 50% compared to last year.

“While crossing 15 million units is certainly a significant milestone, we are equally excited about the new momentum we’ve created in 2015 thanks to new hardware and an unrivaled library of software,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

“With more great games on the way and a hardware system for every type of gamer, 2015 is shaping up to be one of the stronger years yet for Nintendo 3DS in the United States.

Blast Ball was also revealed to be a Metroid Prime title.

EDIT: Oh nevermind, it's a mode within that game. I just read, my bad.

While looks like I may have to get the new Zelda game. I am not a big handheld player only have 1 game on 3ds and that is link between worlds. The only thing is this game kind of looks to much like link to the past and link between worlds.

anyone able to help me out with internet issues? I've been googling but can't find anything that works. My N3DS stopped being able to connect the internet. It usually shows no bars. My friends old 3DS connects fine. I tried deleting the old connection, and when I choose it again it shows up fine, with 3 bars, but then fails the connection test and the bars in the top left corner change from none to 3 to anything in between throughout the test

edit: just made a hot spot with my phone and I can connect to that, its just my uni residence that I can't apparently. Never had an issue before and like i said, friends still connects fine
