Official Nintendo 3DS Thread

For anyone who has MM Legacy Collection, are the new modes worth getting this game if you already have all the original six NES Mega Man games on Wii, 3DS, and Gamecube? I'm asking because 10 bucks is not bad, but how many times can I keep rewarding Capcom for selling me the same titles over, and over, and over, ad nauseam...?

Nah, the new modes really aren't worth it, but the games do look better than the VC versions. If you were thinking about it, I would get it. $10 is cheap, and you have all the games on one title.

The museum and button configurations are probably worth it. Something you couldn't really do with the VC versions.

Kirby: Planet Robobot’s Team Kirby Clash And Kirby 3D Rumble Get A Trailer. June 6, 2016 . 10:30am

People can see some of Kirby: Planet Robobot’s Team Kirby Clash and Kirby 3D Rumble boss battles in Nintendo’s latest trailer.

Nintendo has released a new Kirby: Planet Robobot trailer going over Team Kirby Clash and Kirby 3D Rumble, the two minigames. It begins by going through the cooperative Team Kirby Clash, before heading on to the solo Kirby 3D Rumble.

In Team Kirby Clash, four players can take on a boss together, with each character representing a different power/class. Mr. Frosty, Whispy Woods, and Gigant Edge fights are highlighted in the video. Also, it’s a Download Play minigame, which means you only need one person with a copy of the game for the group to play.

The Kirby 3D Rumble footage begins at the 44 second mark. This minigame puts Kirby on a contained map with enemies. The goal is to suck up as many enemies at once as possible, then use them to defeat all other enemies in one hit, if you can. You get higher combos and points for doing so. This mode also has its own boss fights, with a Mega Masher battle shown at the end of the trailer.

Kirby: Planet Robobot will come to the Nintendo 3DS on June 10, 2016.

People logging into the Nintendo 3DS eShop today to browse the selection and maybe pick up Kirby: Planet Robobot will be greeted by a StreetPass event announcement. In honor of E3 2016, Nintendo has announced a National StreetPass Week that will run from June 10-19, 2016. It’s a Nintendo @ E3 2016 Edition, to be specific.

To participate, bring your Nintendo 3DS to a Nintendo Zone while it’s in sleep mode. Instead of getting six StreetPasses from the last few people in your area to visit that location, you’ll get StreetPasses from people across North America who’ve recently been to a Nintendo Zone. You can check Nintendo’s official website to find Nintendo Zones near you.

This National StreetPass Week coincides with the launch of another means of connecting with people in honor of E3 2016. On Miiverse, Nintendo has opened Nintendo@E32016 and Game News, Videos, and Events communities. The former is a place for people to talk about Nintendo’s E3 announcements, while the latter is run by verified Nintendo users, like Amy, Skye, and Tom, to offer up-to-date news. Both of these communities will be open for a limited time.

E3 2016 will run from June 14-16, 2016.

AA6_06-14-16.jpg

Capcom released new details and screenshots for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice at E3 2016.

Get the details below.
Demo Playable at E3
The E3 demo introduces bright-eyed monk-in-training and self-styled tour guide Ahlbi Ur’gaid, who has been accused of stealing the Kingdom of Khura’in’s national treasure, “The Founder’s Orb,” and murdering its guard, Paht Rohl. Under the kingdom’s legal system, if the defendant is proven guilty, so is the representing attorney. This has led to the absence of lawyers for many years, but visiting attorney Phoenix Wright steps in to defend Ahlbi against the returning and smugger-than-ever prosecutor Gaspen Payne.
Story
In this land’s courtrooms, séance trials decide the fate of all defendants. Royal priestess Rayfa is able to divine the final moments of a victim’s life in the courtroom’s Pool of Souls. The victim’s memories are not limited to sight alone – all of a victim’s final sensations are laid bare for the court to consider before a judgment is made. Players will need to find inconsistencies between Rayfa’s interpretations of the vision and the memory itself to prove Ahlbi’s innocence.
There will be a Capcom-Unity livestream today (June 14) at 2pm PT and tomorrow (June 15) at 11am PT that will offer a deeper look at the game with key members of the development team. Tune in on Twitch.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is due out for 3DS via the Nintendo eShop in September for $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99.

Do you guys think NX will be a handheld/Home console hybrid?

I really just want to be able to play all old gen nintendo games on a handheld (up to wii/3ds).

Give me a way to play GBA games on a handheld again. And classic NES games on the go without going blind lol 3ds classics are sooo small even on an xl.

Truth be told I don't know what it is anymore I whould be ok with a hybrid that play all the old and new games as well.

but it seem they are headed in another direction. for al I know the Nx is a special program like what scor pio is for the Xbox one that you play on other system like tablets.

the new Japanese president it represent a new way to play. so I'm still waiting to see what the NX is over aplatform/ console or a program?

Capcom Says Certain Circumstances Preventing A Localization For The Great Ace Attorney . June 16, 2016 . 2:00pm

Longtime Ace Attorney series producer Motohide Eshiro talked about how Capcom would like to bring The Great Ace Attorney overseas, but a certain circumstance is preventing it from happening.

We’re getting Western release for Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice this September, but fans have been wondering if we’ll ever see The Great Ace Attorney. Longtime series producer Motohide Eshiro talked about it in a recent interview with Gamespot.

“Unfortunately there’s a number of circumstances… We absolutely do want to bring it to the West, but unfortunately due to these circumstances right now… I’m really really sorry!” Eshiro told Gamespot when asked if we’ll ever get a localized version of The Great Ace Attorney.

He added,“Nowadays on the Internet lots of fans are directly asking us, “Where’s Daigyakuten Saiban?” On livestreams, even in the Japanese ones, people from the West will write in and ask where it is. Every time we say, we’re sorry! Certain circumstances are kind of getting in the way.”

The Great Ace Attorney is currently available in Japan for Nintendo 3DS. Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice will release in North America and Europe in September 2016 as an eShop title.

MM7 is out now. I hope that means MMX is going to be next.

If you guys have a 3DS you owe it to yourself to get Rhythm Heaven Mega Mix. It's so addicting.

Was planning to order a Pokemon 20th anniversary 3DS sometime in July, that and to finally get a 3DS since Nintendo isn't doing much on the console department and it'd be a waste to get a Wii U for only a few select titles.

Capcom released a new trailer and character information for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice following a panel today at Anime Expo 2016.

The information details returning characters Maya Fey and Athena Cykes, and new character Nahyuta Sahdmadhi.

Get the details below.

  • Maya Fey – Returning series favorite Maya Fey makes her comeback, but all is not as it seems as she is soon directly caught up in a crime drama herself within the Kingdom of Khura’in, where she’s been in training. Having been reunited with her just before the drama ensues, it’s up to Phoenix to demonstrate his skills in the foreign courtroom to try and save his long-time friend and assistant. Will they both make it out alive?
  • Athena Cykes – First debuted Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, Athena is returning to the legal line-up. The rookie attorney will be supporting Apollo and the cast again with her ability to psychoanalyze emotions and help discover the truth behind the emotional cues found in witnesses’ testimony with her Mood Matrix program. Will she uncover new truths and rescue those accused from being sent down for their crimes?
  • Nahyuta Sahdmadhi – A prosecutor and devout monk who can often be heard admonishing his rivals with the Khura’inese phrase “Satorha!” He holds an international license to practice law, which allows him to prosecute both at home in Khura’in and abroad in America. Using his unique religious rituals, Nahyuta seeks justice for the victims of heinous crimes so that their souls may rest in peace.

So I bought a 3DS recently and it has been pretty fun. I'm sharing it with my 5 year old, I got her some DS games she should enjoy and I downloaded some Virtual Console Game Boy games I had when I was that age.

I am kind of debating switching it out for a 2DS though, they are much more comfortable to hold for any length of time. We'll see though.

I haven't had a Nintendo system at all in a long while, traded in the DS I had for a PS3 back in '08 I think. Looking forward to playing through the classic franchises.

Which kind of 3DS?

I have the New 3DS XL and I think on that one (and the regular sized New model) you can play SNES games, and I don't think they are playable on the 2DS. But I could be wrong and I'm sure the experts here can correct me on that.

You can only play SNES games on the New 3DS. That emulation capability justified my purchase. Playing Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World on the go is amazing.
