So my 8bitdo controller came in, and it's actually much smaller than I was expecting(which is good). The pics of it make it look like it's much bigger and wider than a regular SNES controller, but it's pretty close to the real thing. And all 4 of the shoulder buttons feel natural, which I thought would be a bit weird, but it feels good.

Very pleased. Now I'm just waiting for more 2D platformers to come out.

So rumors have it that the Virtual Console is coming to the Switch, but in order for you to transfer over your games from your Wii U, you have to pay an upgrade fee for each game transferred. The prices are unknown right now, but they may likely be the same as the transfer fees from Wii to Wii U.

Damn, just from the Wii U? I didn't buy any on the Wii U. All of my VC purchases were on the Wii and a TON on the 3DS. I was hoping for a 3DS transfer.

But who knows, it's just a rumor right now.

I didn't see any mention of the Wii or 3DS, so who knows.

I doubt they would be able to with the Wii, but I don't see why they couldn't with the 3DS, since you have a Nintendo account attached to it. The same one attached to your Wii U and Switch.

But this is Nintendo....

You know, one game I want them to announce next year: Metroid Prime Trilogy. Was on the Wii U VC, so I can easily see a port happening to build hype for MP4.

A port of that would be amazing, as long as you can use a Pro Controller. I wasn’t a fan of the Wii’s controls, even though I know people did like it. But since we have the JoyCons, it would be nice to get both options(motion controls or traditional controls).

With Xenoblade Chronicles 2 releasing worldwide for Switch on December 1, Monolith Soft president Tesuya Takahashi has told 4Gamer.net he would like to see a Switch version of Xenoblade Chronicles X, which was released for Wii U in April 2015.

Tetsuya Takahashi: Personally, since there are times that I happen to want to play Xenoblade Chronicles X, I get the feeling that it would be nice to play on Nintendo Switch. Of course, that it something I will think about while discussing user demands and future plans with Nintendo.

People with a Nintendo Switch running firmware 4.0.0 can no longer set their console date to July 11 and perform Satoru Iwata’s Nintendo Direct gesture to play Golf on the system.

A Nintendo Switch secret has been removed. Datamining fans have discovered the hidden copy of Golf previously available on the system was removed with firmware update 4.0.0. “FLOG,” the code hidden in the firmware, has been removed and it is impossible to launch the game. (Thanks, SwitchBrew!)

Back in September 2017, it was discovered that people with a Nintendo Switch would be able to play a version of Golf, the NES game programmed by Satoru Iwata, under the right conditions. If the system date was set to July 11 and someone performed the hand gesture with the Joy-Cons that Iwata performed during each Nintendo Direct, the game would open up and allow people to play it in single or multiplayer with standard or motion controls.

As a reminder, this video from fire3element shows how the game was unlocked and played when the Nintendo Switch was running earlier firmware.

Golf was released on the NES in 1984 and was programmed by Satoru Iwata. Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 and was the president and CEO of Nintendo.

Circle Entertainment is bringing the Mercenaries Saga tactical RPG trilogy to Switch as Mercenaries Saga Chronicles, the company announced.


The trilogy will include Mercenaries Saga, Mercenaries Saga 2: Order of the Silver Eagle, and Mercenaries Saga 3: Gray Wolves of War. The latter two titles are currently available in English across iOS, Android, and 3DS, while the original Mercenaries Saga is currently only available in Japanese for iOS and Android. This will mark the first time the original Mercenaries Saga is released in English.

On the other hand, the tribes of the Kirialos country in the southern continent were at constant war over their plentiful resources.


Having achieved domination of their own continent, the Flare Kingdom set their sights on Kirialos’s resources.

January Nintendo Direct to be announced shortly?

Amazon has listed 18 placeholder product listings for Switch, each titled “Switch Title” followed by a number.


The listings use an image with the Switch logo and the text, “Just Announced at the Nintendo Switch Event.” The same image was used for the new products announced at Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 last January, as seen on the listing for Project Octopath Traveller.
