Jurassic World: Dominion

Not even a trailer for Dominion will induce me to spend money on F9.

I'm sure this has been discussed at length before, but I can't remember.

Jurassic World 2 destroyed Isla Nublar, resulting in the dinosaurs (a limited selection of them at least) being rescued and then later released to the wild on the mainland.

What's the deal with Isla Sorna? Surely that island should still be teeming with dinosaurs, so why the focus on Nublar? Why did any dinosaur species need to be saved when there's another island with even more of them?

I hope the appearances of the older cast members is not as pointless as Jeff Goldblum appearing in the last movie. Let's face it, the second Jurassic World was not very well written.

I hope first trailer wins me back. Fallen Kingdom killed my interest in future films. I want this to be good, I just cannot muster enthusiasm at this point.

It hasn't been mentioned yet in these new movies, but was teased to be hinted at in the new film.

I sure do hope it's a thing; Sorna is supposed to be something like 4x (or more) the size of Nublar, and so there should still be a thriving ecosystem in place there, which is what we need when you consider the limited number of Dinosaurs that may now be running around mainland USA.

If it were possible to round them up and capture them, and to then transport them back to Sorna, no longer are they roaming the world - except maybe the Pterosaurs and Plesiosaurs..

It's been confirmed that the original cast are main characters throughout the movie.

I wasn't too fond of fallen kingdom when I saw it, but it didn't hinder my excitement for Dominion. I personally think dominion has the potential to be the best sequel, which btw is still The Lost World for me. And on rewatch I enjoyed fallen kingdom more than I did when I saw it. Though I retract my previous statement saying I thought it was better than Jurassic world. I still think Jurassic world is superior to fallen kingdom.

I haven’t seen Fallen Kingdom all the way through since I first saw it in the theaters. Might have to revisit it when Dominion comes out

Always love from time to time going back and re-reading JP and TLW
Same here, I so wish TLW film was closer to the book. So much is left out in the film. In fact, I'd go so far to say that if TLW film followed the Book it may very well be one of my favorite JP films.

I don't know if The Lost World is that strong of a book. I feel the basic idea is great about a Site B with dinosaurs roaming free, which is all they really took for the movie, but you could kind of tell Crichton was just going through the motions of writing a sequel more being influenced by the success of the movie than even his own first book (Ian Malcolm being the lead etc).

Fallen Kingdom was total trash but it was a different director. It’s even worse than JP3. But I’m still excited for this because of the cast. Colin’s JW had fun moments but it’s really stupid. There hasn’t been a decent JP since 97, so I’m hoping this goes out with a bang and feels like the end of a Spielberg trilogy. I’m sure they don’t ignore the last three movies but god i wish they pulled a Halloween 2018.

I cannot say the same. Some movies are just franchise interest killers. Fallen Kingdom was one such movie for me. That movie was just outlandishly awful, I cannot get over it. The Predator was another movie that did that. Couldn't care less about the next Predator film, which is a shame cause I used to love the series. Could dinosaurs on our soil be cool? Sure. But in a world where lava can land on a dinosaurs head and it is like getting pinched, who cares? Nothing matters in that world.

I've enjoyed all of the Jurassic park films. Sure I have my favorites over the others but none I would consider to be horrible. I actually appreciate what they did in Fallen Kingdom with the whole "when is playing god too much" scenario when they introduced a human clone. I'm really looking forward to this new film.

I totally get that feeling of “yeaaaah screw this franchise, I’ll never go see another one”. If it wasn’t for Dern, Goldblum, Neill having major roles, i’d be out. Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker (which I didn’t even see in the cinema) did that for me. I will literally never go see a Star Wars movie in a cinema ever again and I’m not even sure if I’ll take the time to watch them at home. Just zero interest. Terminator is another franchise that I’ll never touch again.

If they ever remake Jurassic Park I don’t think I’d watch it.
