This was the most Star Wars feeling thing for me in quite a while. I enjoyed the spirit of the show for sure. Far from perfect, but I do think it goes deep if you pay attention (absolutely love Eric Voss's analysis of the series), and using the show as a vehicle to expand the Star Wars Universe for the foreseeable future is interesting. I am curious not only where this goes (let's face it, we know where this leads to given the film announcement and the fact that the new trilogy exists), but more so for the next iteration of Star Wars. The show has actually made me excited for a new age of Star Wars and what a new galaxy can open it up to, if that is indeed the plan. Time will tell.
I also get that this show isn't what some wanted, but I can say the same of Andor for myself as I find it the most boring thing I've seen. Not the worst mind you (the cinematography, sets, designs, etc are all EXCELLENT), but I can't get attached to any character on that show, nor did I for Rogue One (which is my least favorite film, and RLM's take on it is exactly how I feel). If you can't sell me on the characters, then I don't care no matter how good or bad the show/film is. I never watched any of the animated content, but was able to appreciate and enjoy the characters in Ahsoka very much. Baylan was definitely my favorite, and the loss of Ray hits harder now.
Again, I'm sad to see the amount of negativity on the boards, but that extends outside of SW for sure here over the last few years and why I've been very inactive. Oh well.
Until some time in the future, regardless of how you feel about this show, may the force be with you.
