Growing up, I didn't watch a lot of movies. My mom doesn't really watch them, so I was never really shown a lot of things that people my age consider big parts of their childhood. The only movies I watched were new ones that I sought out, or random movies that I may have watched at friends' houses. But that leaves a big gap, because pretty much anything before 1993 is a crapshoot. I've seen the MAJOR tentpoles like Star Wars, Terminator, Alien, Predator, Ghostbusters, etc, but there's a lot of things I missed.

@KRYPTON INC. you always seem to have a list of movies for me to watch, so I'm asking you to give me some suggestions. Anyone else who wants to pop in with some ideas would be great, too.

And don't assume I've seen anything. Like, you might not think to suggest The Goonies, because everyone has seen that. I haven't. Let's go 1975 and up for a time period.

I must consult the tomes of wisdom...

There was a film suggestion thread in Misc. Film that was active a few years back but I can't find it. What was it titled again?

Here's a funny one.

If he hasn't seen Mario Bros 93 I very well may put this place out of it's misery...

Also Robocop was PG13 at the time. Which is ****ing nuts. (i think im right on that)

Beastmaster. Poltergeist. Dark Crystal. Up In Smoke. Over The Top (maximum stallone). Stand By Me. Top Gun. An American Tale. TMNT 1990 (most underrated CBM of all time). Days of Thunder. BARDOCK FATHER OF GOKU. Hot Shots.

And one of the most important movies in cinema history....

Death Becomes Her (1992)
A Few Good Men (1992)

I tried to go for variety!

Thank you for all your suggestions. I wanted to narrow down a list of 20, since I figured some of these will be on streaming services, so it'll keep costs down. If not... Then it'll be about $100, and I can live with that. I tried to pick something from everyone's list (even Krypton's unhinged insanity). This is my list:

Young Frankenstein (1974)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)
Excalibur (1981)
Dragonslayer (1981)
ET (1982)
Beastmaster (1982)
Dark Crystal (1982)
Brazil (1985)
Top Gun (1986)
Dirty Dancing (1987)
Over the Top (1987)
No Holds Barred (1989)
When Harry Met Sally (1989)
Days of Thunder (1990)
The Hunt for the Red October (1990)
Hot Shots (1991)
Point Break (1991)
Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
A Few Good Men (1992)
Tombstone (1993)

I wish I could watch these movies for the first time and feel what I felt then.

Your list was the most comprehensive, so I wanted to mark off the one's I've seen to see where I stand. I've done better than I thought, but still a lot of gaps.
