I just want this movie to blow the box office up, just so I can be like "I TOLD YOU SO", is that wrong?

That's exactly how I feel. I want the critics to love it and I want it to kick ass at the box office, just so I can rub it in the face of everyone who doubted it.

The one thing I do kind of agree with from BOM writeup is the fact that there isn't a clear "character" villain. Parallax does kind of have that "giant cloud villain" thing going on that FF2 had.

I'm just going to be really sad if this movie is unsuccessful. Not only do future GL movies ride on it, but so do other big budget DC superhero flicks, like Wonder Woman, Flash, etc.

I really don't want WB to get the idea that Batman and Superman are the only heroes worth making movies about.

But it's not like trotting Joker or Doc Ock out there... And the trailers kinda make it clear Parallax is the greatest threat.

New TV spot is great. The updates in the CGI are very noticeable and it's great to see that. Just picked up two passes to an advanced screening of GL from my local comic book shop.

F*** Box Office Mojo. Those snide comments don't really have any basis, really. Those are really just the opinions of the person who wrote that. Unless they polled people and asked them if they do or don't know what the movie is about, it sounds like the writer hasn't been paying much attention to the movie and knows nothing about the story or the character.

Also, I really don't think Green Hornet will affect this movie's box office results at all. Aside from the color green and the fact that both characters where masks, they have almost no similarities (at least not Seth Rogen's crap version of GH). I don't think anyone is going to get them confused other than people who wouldn't go see a superhero film in the first place.

Exactly. Whoever the writer of that is sounds like he is reaching for negatives and his opinion is baseless unless he can come up with some polling #'s. How can a Green Lantern film be anymore "silly or goofy" than a Transformers, Star Trek, Thor, Superman, Wolverine, X-Men or Star Wars film??

Are we gonna see other Lantern's batteries? I was just wondering if they would all be the same, or if they would change them up for each Lantern. Isn't there a pretty standard format for the lantern batteries in the comics?

I don't think so. There have been script reviews though and those reviews were good and probably based on earlier drafts.

Well this sucks, turns out those of us down here aren't getting GL until August.

you also have to whait until august?

i found out yesterday that GL was meant to come out in june but you know what happened? TF3. the theaters made a lot of money with TF and TF2. so they dont want to have 2 action movies together with 3D screens. so since GL is a new movie they pushed it back to august.with TF3 they know they will make the maximum money with only TF3 screenings. why august? because if they would push it only to july then Harry Potter would be the problem. it all comes down to 3D screens. 3D. so yeah to many 3D movies in such a small time.
the theaters learned in december that they dont have enough screen. Narnia and Tron.

1 month would be a pain. but 2 months is the end of the world hehehe

Yep, ****ing August. This was changed last week, I only found out today. Even New Zealand are getting it June 16. Apparently the reason is because they're trying to get the cast down for the premier, which is ****ing pointless because we'll know if the film is a piece of **** 2 months ahead of time. All the anticipation I had is completely deflated.

I can coz it was listed as June 16 until a week ago. They changed the released date four weeks before the film was meant to be released, four ****ing weeks. FFS I'm getting Captain American before it now. I swear they want people to download the bloody thing. I could stand a week or two, but 2 months?
