Official Street Fighter IV Thread

is there a reason why there are separate fighter points for when you play original and arcade editions? i find it really annoying that 90% of the time my Ryu is shown with 200BP but really im fighting with like 2000BP.

AE rankings are separate from Super rankings. Since the balance changes make the game play differently, you start over again.

oh yeah, balance changes....maybe thats why ive been sucking so bad since AE came out. :csad:

oh did he really? what did they do cuz, i just feel like im a walking nerf ball now when im playing online.

I believe there was a damage nerf to his Fw. fierce, his Cr. mk is nowhere near as good a tool as it used to be, no more escape tatsu so when Ryu gets cornered he'll have a really tough time

After the awesome port that Capcom releaed of SF3, I really hope their next project is to bring Street Fighter Alpha 3 to PSN/XBLA. To me that was the best game in the series before SFIV dropped. I know the PS1 version is available for download but I want PS3 which with the HD upscaling, graphic options, trophies, online play, challenges, updated artwork, etc... just like they just did with SF3 OE

R. Mika and Karin :hrt:

Haha, I was just playing it on my PSP and thats what got me pumped for wanting a PS3 version. The game was pretty deep and was such a complete package having nearly every playable character from the series in it at time of home release. I really loved that game

Bow before Hugo. :wow:

Warning: Male asscheeks involved.

Interesting update on the SF Anniversary Collection

The PlayStation version of the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary, Sony is offering free downloadable content including all 4 Alpha games, 175 avatars from various Street Fighter games and all DLC for Third Strike Online Edition.

I'm getting tempted for that AC.

Capcom just announced that this game will be getting ANOTHER release. The new game will add 5 new fighters to the roster and 6 new stages

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/07/13/capcom-announces-a-new-street-fighter

During their panel at Evo 2013, Capcom announced a new Street Fighter 4 that'll be hitting stores in early 2014. No date was announced, but they did tell us that existing characters will be adjusted to level the playing field and that 5 new characters will be added to the game including Poison, Hugo, Rolento, and Elena, and 1 mystery character that has "Never been in a Street Fighter game before." The game will also feature 6 new stages and will cost $14.99 to upgrade from any version of Street Fighter 4, or be available at full price for $39.99. More details are listed below, but expect a trailer during Evo 2013's finals on IGN. Here's a full list of what we know.

  • There's no official name yet
  • The game is arriving in early 2014
  • It'll be available on the PS3, 360, and PC
  • Upgrade from any version of Street Fighter 4 for 14.99
  • The full retail game will cost $39.99
  • Existing characters will be adjusted to level the playing field
  • 5 new characters will be added including...
  1. Poison
  2. Hugo
  3. Rolento
  4. Elena
  5. 1 Mystery Character that has never been in a Street Fighter game before

  • 6 new stages will be added
  • All past DLC costumes will be included in the game (A $40 value)
  • Pre-Order bonuses include costumes from Udon
  • The Japanese arcade version has NESiCa support, but no launch date has been announced
  • A trailer will be coming before the grand finals this Sunday with the official name of the title

That's all we know for now, but we will update this article as more is revealed.

I hope the 5th character isn't another Karate related character or evil version. Like Evil Ken or something like that.

I dropped out with Super, got a bit burned out on SFIV. I've been thinking about coming back in since Arcade Edition is so cheap right. But I may just wait for this. It's a ways off, but I have a little of a backlog building gamewise. Could just buy AE and wait until the patch, be cheaper. Getting all the costumes free isn't much incentive for me; the costume releases have been lackluster for the most part.

I hope it's a character with a fighting style we have not seein in SF yet... OR another Tae Kwon Do character, this time more traditional. Also, it's nice to see another SF3 character join the ranks...all that's left is Alex. Got a feeling Haggar is the mystery character...

Skullomania should be the secret character. :o

But he's been in a SF game before...Granted it wasn't a SF made my Capcom, but a Street Fighter none the less.

A shame no tweeks were made to Vega to make him a little better. Nerfing Makoto is NEVER a good thing.

No body knows how to milk a series like Capcom. I honestly thought they were done with SFIV. So we've had

Street Fighter IV (2008)
Super Street Fighter IV (2010)
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (2011)
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Ver. 2012 (2011)
"New Street Fighter IV" (2014)

not to mention:
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition (2011)
Street Fighter IV: Volt (2011)

Sounds about par the course.

Street Fighter II
Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
Super Street Fighter II
Super Street Fighter II Turbo
Hyper Street Fighter II
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

And that was when Alpha was coming out regularly. III only had two re-releases, but it was never particularly popular outside the more hardcore audience. Capcom seems to want to make an event out of each numbered release. Looks like they want to create one each generation. Until then it's re-release heaven.

Its just shocking that they are doing this so late in the console generation as SFIV will have been released 6 years ago by the time this comes out. And with them having moved onto SFxTK, I really thought they were done with IV and the next thing would be a proper SF V. Guess not. Wonder if this new edition will be released on the PS4 and One. If so, it would be the first fighter announced for the PS4 at least

Anyways the last version of SFIV I played was the original Super. I never got into AE. I have it sitting on my HDD as it was offered through PS Plus

I think people have moved back to SFIV after SFxTK. Guess there still a market there.
