Cameron is indirectly the funniest director in the business haha. All the quotes from variety just make me laugh and I love how outspoken Cameron is in general. He's earned it, honestly.

'Avatar 2' Needs $2 Billion to Turn a Profit. James Cameron Says - Variety
Cameron apparently told Disney and 20th Century Studios executives that his sequel budget was so high it represented “the worst business case in movie history.” According to the director’s estimates, “you have to be the third or fourth highest-grossing film in history. That’s your threshold. That’s your break even.”

But as Cameron worked late into the evening, day after day, solving the infinite problems that The Way of Water continued to present, he seemed to be enjoying himself. “I like difficult,” he told me. “I’m attracted by difficult. Difficult is a f... magnet for me. I go straight to difficult. And I think it probably goes back to this idea that there are lots of smart, really gifted, really talented filmmakers out there that just can’t do the difficult stuff. So that gives me a tactical edge to do something nobody else has ever seen, because the really gifted people don’t f... want to do it.”

I love the final trailer a lot more than the earlier ones! The visuals really pop this time and I like them showing some story elements too.

Can’t wait for this. But I’ve been over the the theater going experience for years now. I know something like this would look amazing on the big screen. But I still feel like I’ll wait for home release honestly. That’s just how I am now personally with films.

I’ve got in the habit of buying the earliest available tickets for films. Will have to make sure I remember to book 3D as I’ve not done that for years, and the earliest ones usually aren’t 3D.

Is this getting a China release? It made $200M+ there for the last movie.

Spider-Man NWH made $1.9 billion without China. If Avatar 2 gets the China release then $2 billion is very doable.
